Position Specific Description

NextEra Energy INC. a leading utility company, is looking for a Principal ABAP Technical candidate who can work on small to medium projects independently. This role involves heavy interaction a team of business representatives or liaisons for requirement gathering, prioritize work, develop enhancements to the existing system, coordinate testing, and perform change management / training and design. Employee will provide technical direction on projects to department or project participants.  Maintains thorough knowledge of new development and/or technology pertaining to project(s) and recommends changes for improvement. Position usually requires six to eight years of experience and an advanced degree, or the equivalent and in-depth knowledge in area of specialty.  

 

 

  • 5-8 years SAP ABAP experience developing RICEFW objects 
  • Candidate must have strong ABAP/SAP Development Implementation experience working with several modules
  • Hands-on experience in ABAP development with good understanding of SAP's technical architecture
  • Experience and strong knowledge in ABAP Webdynpro 
  • Develop, test, and implement programs, including reports, interfaces, and data conversions
  • -Hands-on proficiency in all facets of ABAP development required, including but not limited to:
  • Reports: ALV, Standard and Interactive
  • Interfaces: RFC, BAPI, BDC and IDOC
  • Forms: Adobe forms, SMARTFORM and SAPScript
  • Workflows both Financial and Supply chain
  • Enhancements: User Exits, BADI, Enhancement Framework, Dialog Programming and Data Dictionary Objects (Tables, Views, Data Elements, Domains, Search Helps)
  • Experience using ABAP debugger and troubleshooting
  • Strong hands on experience with Object Oriented paradigm and experience with Object Oriented design
  • Experience with developing Fiori apps and OData services
  • Close communication with functional teams /designers, understand the requirements from provided functional designs and transform these requirements into the technical designs
  • Work closely with clients, management and team members to ensure delivery of proposed solutions and support for development of business possibilities 
  • Follow established methodologies during system development and ensure systems adhere to the standards and procedures established by IT department.
  • Excellent knowledge of database design and transaction processing
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, solution design and programming skills
  • Experience in writing interfaces between SAP and legacy systems, including data migration, data validation, and data conversion
  • Hands-on SAP ABAP code optimization techniques

Job Duties & Responsibilities

•  Analyzes, designs, develops, tests, debugs, implements, maintains, integrates, customizes, and enhances existing or new systems

•  Applies appropriate Agile or development methodologies, system development lifecycles, tools, and technology to manage development activities

•  Automates the handoff of code releases from development to operations (DevOps)

•  Participates in the change management and  service ticket management processes including receiving, resolution monitoring, and ensuring customer satisfaction

•  Leads projects when needed and builds strong working understanding of the solution being delivered

•  Ensures user satisfaction by providing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and timely resolution of more complex problems

•  Designs, develops, and  tests experimental application work to test new ideas with bounded cost and time frames

•  Ensures that applications processes are conducted in line with corporate social responsibility, security, compliance, environmental, and technical policies and applicable standards and legislation

•  Acts as liaison with regulatory agencies, vendors, and contractors on matters relating to computer systems as required

•  Defines metrics and monitors Service Level Agreements (SLAs) for systems being developed

•  Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

•  High School Grad / GED

•  Bachelor's or Equivalent Experience

•  Experience: 6+ years
