Position Specific Description

Enterprise Data Platform (EDP) program is building an integrated suite of cloud-based infrastructure, applications and analytics tools that will create, connect, and integrate data from multiple sources and across different domains to enable data-driven decision-making for better business outcomes.

 

Principal IT Business Analyst responsible for specification of data analytics capability enhancements in EDP. They proactively identify opportunities to use EDP functionality to better support business processes, along with providing end-user support. Individuals will work with project managers, and information technology partners and business unit representatives to keep abreast of operational issues, initiatives, and strategies with a potential impact to data analytics functions. This role serves as an expert consultant to the project teams to explain capabilities and evaluate the fit for EDP. Principal IT Business Analyst will have excellent communication skills, analytical and problem-solving skills and understand customer perspective of the engagement.  Role will also have technical components, with requirements to build and deploy some reports and dashboards leveraging corporate tools. 

 

Preferred Qualifications: 

Six Sigma Green Belt Certification preferred

Experience with tools such as Jira and Confluence

Experience with agile methodologies including Scrum and/or Kanban.

Experience with software development processes and procedures

Ability to query and gather test data and update test results

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates a strong familiarity with business processes that are in their area of business focus
  • Establishes and manages effective customer relationships with users of business, financial and operations systems, as well as technical team members
  • Applies advanced analytical skills within functional area to decompose work into manageable value-based units
  • Responds to requests, identifies conflicts, and makes recommendations where needed
  • Devises or modifies procedures to solve complex problems
  • Uses knowledge of business processes to identify interdependencies and functional gaps
  • Builds strong working understanding of the technical solution being delivered and analyzes and determines failure points in the solution
  • Contributes to the application testing process (directly or to support end users)
  • Creates and updates documentation, as appropriate, for selected project framework
  • Maintains a familiarity with market trends in technology
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • High School Grad / GED
  • Bachelor’s or Equivalent Experience
  • Experience: 7+ years
