Position Specific Description

NextEra Energy is seeking an experienced and strategic MuleSoft Integration Architect to lead the design, development, and implementation of integration solutions using the MuleSoft platform. The successful candidate will be responsible for architecting scalable, robust, and secure integrations that meet the business needs of the organization. This role requires deep technical expertise in MuleSoft, strong leadership skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
      
      
Essential Responsibilities    
Architecture and Design:

  • Lead the design and architecture of integration solutions using the MuleSoft Anypoint Platform to connect various systems and applications across the enterprise.
  • Develop integration architecture blueprints, technical specifications, and design documentation to ensure scalability, security, and performance.
  • Define and implement best practices for API-led connectivity, microservices architecture, and reusable API components.

 

Implementation and Development:

  • Lead the development and deployment of integration solutions, including APIs, connectors, data mappings, and transformation logic using MuleSoft.
  • Design and implement MuleSoft flows, orchestrations, and integrations with on-premises and cloud-based systems.
  • Ensure the seamless integration of MuleSoft solutions with existing systems and applications.

 

Technical Leadership:

  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to integration developers throughout the software development lifecycle.
  • Conduct architecture reviews, design discussions, and code reviews to ensure adherence to architectural standards and best practices.
  • Identify and address technical challenges, risks, and opportunities to optimize the integration architecture.

 

Collaboration and Coordination:

  • Work closely with business analysts, project managers, and stakeholders to understand integration requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Facilitate effective communication and collaboration between development teams, ensuring alignment on project goals and deliverables.
  • Collaborate with IT operations and security teams to ensure robust infrastructure, data security, and compliance with industry standards.
  • Continuous Improvement and Innovation:
  • Stay updated on the latest trends, tools, and best practices in integration architecture and MuleSoft.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements, technology enhancements, and innovative solutions that drive business value.
  • Lead initiatives to adopt new technologies and methodologies that foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the team.

 

Documentation and Training:

  • Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for MuleSoft integration solutions, including design specifications, technical guides, and user manuals.
  • Provide training and support to development teams and end-users to enhance their understanding and adoption of integration solutions.
  • Conduct knowledge-sharing sessions and workshops to promote best practices and architectural standards.

      
      
Preferred Experience    

  • Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in integration architecture and development, with a focus on the MuleSoft Anypoint Platform.
  • Proven track record of designing and implementing complex integration solutions in a large or complex organization, preferably in the energy sector.
  • Technical Expertise    Deep knowledge of MuleSoft Anypoint Platform, including API Manager, CloudHub, AnyPoint Studio, and DataWeave.
  • Strong technical skills in Java, Python, or other programming languages relevant to integration development.
  • Experience with RESTful and SOAP web services, API design, microservices architecture, and message queuing systems.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with a strategic mindset.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of engaging effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Works with business partners to analyze strategy and trends to define the requirements, principles, and models that guide technology decisions
  • Communicates and enforces technology standards with business partners
  • Understands industry trends and the practical application of existing, new, and emerging technologies
  • Drives digital innovation and develops roadmaps through new technologies and approaches to fulfill strategic business plans
  • Defines high-level migration plans to address gaps in current state
  • Coaches, mentors, and leads technical subject matters experts to enable and drive consistency across technology architectures
  • Designs and owns governance, assurance, and standards activities for enterprise technology architecture compliance
  • Oversees and facilitates the evaluation, risk assessment, selection, and design of hardware and software technology and product standards
  • Delivers technology architecture artifacts, possibly including reference architectures or concepts of operation
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • High School Grad / GED
  • Bachelor's or Equivalent Experience
  • Experience: 6+ years
