Position Specific Description
Power Converter Electrical Engineer
NextEra Energy is currently seeking an electrical engineer with experience working with power electronic converter equipment (GE, Converteam, ABB, Siemens, Xantrex, etc) to join the Wind Fleet Electrical Engineering Team. Desirable to have experience in design, commissioning, and/or troubleshooting power conversion electronic equipment. Problem Solving and Project Management skills a must.
This position will focus on remote and on-site troubleshooting individual turbines, fleet wide solutions identification, advanced monitoring and troubleshooting tools development, maintenance procedures, capital improvements, and parts obsolescence and repairability solutions.
This Wind Electrical Engineering Fleet Team team supports all electrical and control equipment from the secondary of the transformer throughout the turbine including generators, motors, pitch systems, power distribution and power conversion. This team also supports NERC Reliability Standards and Electrical Safety initiatives.
A degree in Electrical Engineering is desired but years of experience may be considered.
Registration as a licensed Professional Engineer is a plus.
