Position Specific Description

Employees in this role support the NextEra Energy Investments team via financial modeling, forecasting and budgeting.  Principal responsibilities include maintaining and updating the internal group forecast and budget, reviewing and evaluating financial statements, budgets and forecasts for various portfolio companies that the NextEra Energy Investments (NEI) team invests in, and consolidating and preparing monthly operating and financial reports.

 

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Establish protocols and processes for tracking, accounting, reporting and valuing the investment activities of NEI team
  • Lead valuation of current investments in the NEI portfolio
  • Consolidate, summarize and report NEI investment financials to senior management
  • Identify and conduct complex analyses of financial impacts of issues and/or decisions facing the NEI group and proposes strategies to maximize
  • Coordinate externally with the management of portfolio companies to understand their financial position and business performance
  • Prepare PowerPoint presentations to be provided to Senior and Executive Management
  • Various ad hoc financial analysis as required
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Job Overview

This position works with internal and external groups to perform due diligence and asset valuations of various corporate financing projects. This position works as a Subject Matter Expert in the planning and coordination of work assignments to identify and analyze the impact of relevant financing projects.
 

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Works with internal and external groups to analyze various financial projects such as mergers and acquisitions         
  • Builds, enhances and maintains complex financial models         
  • Proposes strategies to maximize the financial performance of the company         
  • Supports project and corporate capitalization processes with due diligence, identification of key risks and mitigants, and cash flow analyses         
  • Makes recommendations on financing decisions and executes long and/or short term financings
  • Performs other job-related duties as needed

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Equivalent Experience
  • Experience: 6+ years
     

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's - Accounting / Finance
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA)        
  • Chartered Financial Analyst  (CFA)
