Position Specific Description

NextEra Energy is seeking an experienced transactional attorney with three to six years of experience for the legal team supporting NextEra Energy Partners (“NEP”) to work on complex transactions including financings, mergers and acquisitions, capital markets and other transactions that the group manages.

 

The preferred candidate will have:

  • Significant experience in transaction work including the negotiation of purchase agreements, financing agreements, ancillary documentation, and coordinating parallel specialist review as necessary;
  • Support the NEP commercial team and senior attorneys to draft, review and negotiate term sheets, financing documentation, and other primary transaction documentation;
  • Manage and direct outside counsel, transaction diligence, coordinate internal legal and non-legal review of transactions and related documentation;
  • Draft, review and negotiate NDAs, schedules, and short-form agreements;
  • The applicant must be a team player with a demonstrated commercial acumen who relates well with clients, management, and counterparties and who can thrive in a fast-paced, demanding environment;

•   Provides written and oral legal advice to clients
•   Anticipates and guards against legal risks involving the organization
•   Works to ensure budget compliance and avoids the need for outside counsel
•   Ensures disclosure of potentially material legal issues to senior leadership
•   Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications


•  Member in Good Standing of State Bar
•  High School Grad / GED
•  Juris Doctorate
•  Bachelor's Degree
•  Experience:3+ years
