Position Specific Description
NextEra Energy is seeking an experienced attorney for the commercial and infrastructure group within NextEra Energy’s General Counsel Business Unit. This position will provide legal support related to energy transactions, engineering, construction, procurement, operations, marketing, general commercial and utility work. She/he will play a lead role in structuring, negotiating, drafting, and providing general transactional support for multiple business units within the Company.
Ideal candidates will have:
- Candidates should have a strong academic background and at least 5 years of experience in a top law firm, corporate legal department or financial institution related to the energy and utility industries.
- Experience drafting and negotiating power transactions, EPC agreements, engineering & construction and procurement work, operations and maintenance work, acquisitions and dispositions of energy infrastructure assets.
- Experience representing electric utilities and independent power producers, familiarity with electric utility regulation
This position will be based at our headquarters in Juno Beach, FL.

• Member in Good Standing of State Bar
• High School Grad / GED
• Juris Doctorate
• Bachelor's Degree
