Position Specific Description

NextEra Energy is currently seeking a Controls Engineering Leader who can apply a diversified knowledge of engineering principles and practices in leading a technical team executing a variety of assignments in support of wind power generation.

 

Employees in this leadership role provide engineering expertise and coaching for team members tasked with modifications, upgrades and life-cycle maintenance of electrical SCADA systems, process control systems, data communication systems and OT applications that support wind power generation. The Wind Controls and Site SCADA Engineering Leader champions wind control solution development, control standards and configuration management. The Engineering Leader may provide advanced troubleshooting support as necessary.

The successful candidate will have a sense of accountability and urgency required to make informed decisions regarding safety, regulatory compliance, system integrity and engineering complexity under limited supervision.

This may include negotiating critical and controversial issues with top level engineers and officers of other organizations and companies and having responsibility for one or more programs of such diversity and scope to be of critical importance to overall company objectives.

•   Develops standards and guidelines for diverse technical and engineering activities
•   Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications


•  High School Grad / GED
•  Bachelor's - Engineering
•  Experience:7+ years
•  Supervisor/Management Experience:2+ years

Preferred Qualifications


•  Certified Professional Engineer (PE)
•  Six Sigma Black Belt Certified
•  Six Sigma Green Belt Certified
•  Master's Degree
•  Six Sigma Master Black Belt
