Position Specific Description

This position is responsible for writing detailed work instructions (procedures) for wind turbine maintenance and repair.  This position will develop maintenance procedures for preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and component replacement on large wind turbines.

 

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and improve high quality maintenance procedures using a combination of personal experience, OEM documentation, and input from subject matter experts
  • Develop, maintain, and improve Job Plans for maintenance work on wind turbines, including resource requirements and durations
  • Collaborate with internal support groups, especially Engineering and field technicians, for accurate Job Plan and procedure content
  • Implement effective quality control (QA/QC) measures through procedure content
  • Prioritize work, delegate task assignments, and manage deliverable content from supporting field personnel
  • Lead development of new maintenance methods and procedural documentation with field support
  • Travel to various sites as required to develop maintenance procedures
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned

 

Minimum Qualifications & Requirements

  • BS Electrical Engineering degree -or- 3+ years of field experience with maintenance and repair of wind turbines
  • Ability to interpret electrical and hydraulic schematics
  • Ability to travel up to 15% within the continental US
  • Ability to climb wind turbines for occasional work observation and information gathering

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with wind turbine maintenance.  General Electric, Siemens, and/or Vestas turbine knowledge preferred.
  • Proficiency in technical writing and procedure writing techniques
  • Proficiency with Maximo
