Position Specific Description
This is a Managerial role within our Corporate Security Department at NextEra Energy Resources, which is the non-regulated affiliate of NextEra Energy and has a majority of its assets in 49 different states and Canada. This person will be responsible for the following:
• Conducts and manages investigations in support of asset protection and safe and secure workplace policies
• Develops and conducts security training and awareness for employees and makes presentations to same.
• Makes presentations to senior management on the strategic direction of security program.
• Position requires frequent travel to locations outside of Florida. Estimate percentage of travel is 25% of the time.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned
The ideal candidate will have experience in law enforcement investigations and/or industrial security, executive protection, familiarity with criminal law, general knowledge of threat assessment methodology and security systems, and/or ASIS CPP certification.
Job Overview
The leader in this role oversees the corporate security function and assists with the development of the enterprise wide security strategy under senior management direction.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Develops, plans, and implements policies, procedures, methods, investigations and technical security systems and operations required to protect personnel, property, facilities, operations or materials from criminal activity
- Develops and manages all emergency plans and operations
- Oversees security personnel, contract security force, and all security related vendor contracts
- Consults with business unit management to establish long and short range security objectives
- Develops close relationships with high-level law enforcement, intelligence, and private sector counterparts in order to enhance the effectiveness of the security mission
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Experience: 8+ years
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s Degree
- Six Sigma Yellow Belt Certification
- Supervisory/Management Experience:1+ years
- Valid Driver's License (NON CDL)
