Position Specific Description

The NextEra 360 Technical Solutions team is seeking an experienced Manager to lead strategic customer engagements and shape the development of complex, enterprise-scale energy and infrastructure solutions across commercial, industrial, utility, and public sector markets.

 

This role serves as a trusted advisor to customers while providing strategic leadership across NextEra Energy's internal organizations to identify, develop, and advance high-value growth opportunities. The Manager will partner closely with Development, Commercial, Engineering, Origination, Product, Strategy, and executive leadership to solve complex customer challenges, mature emerging opportunities, and expand NextEra Energy's presence in new and evolving markets.

 

Beyond leading customer engagements, this position is responsible for continuously improving internal processes, developing scalable engagement methodologies, identifying new solution offerings and market opportunities, and helping shape the strategic direction of the Technical Solutions organization.

 

The ideal candidate combines deep technical expertise, strong commercial acumen, exceptional leadership skills, and the ability to influence executive stakeholders while navigating highly ambiguous and strategically important initiatives.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

Strategic Customer Leadership

  • Lead highly complex, high-profile customer engagements involving multiple business units, executive stakeholders, and enterprise-scale energy initiatives.
  • Serve as a strategic advisor to customers, helping define long-term energy, infrastructure, and decarbonization roadmaps aligned with evolving business priorities.
  • Guide customers through complex technical, commercial, and regulatory considerations while positioning NextEra Energy as a long-term strategic partner.
  • Lead executive-level workshops, discovery sessions, and strategic planning engagements.

 

Solution Strategy & Business Growth

  • Develop integrated energy and infrastructure strategies leveraging NextEra Energy's full portfolio of capabilities.
  • Identify and mature new customer opportunities that expand NextEra Energy's addressable market.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies, business models, and industry trends to identify new solution offerings and growth opportunities.
  • Partner with Business Development and Commercial teams to shape opportunity strategy and prioritize investments across the sales pipeline.
  • Provide strategic input into pursuit strategies for high-value customer opportunities.

 

Organizational Leadership & Process Improvement

  • Establish and continuously improve scalable processes, engagement frameworks, and best practices that increase organizational effectiveness.
  • Lead initiatives that improve collaboration across technical, commercial, and operational teams.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline customer engagement, solution development, and internal decision-making processes.
  • Drive knowledge sharing and institutional learning across the Technical Solutions organization.
  • Develop standardized methodologies, playbooks, and tools that improve consistency and execution quality.

 

Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Lead cross-functional teams spanning engineering, development, origination, structuring, transmission, storage, carbon solutions, digital technologies, and other enterprise subject matter experts.
  • Influence senior leaders across the organization to align resources and drive execution on strategic initiatives.
  • Coordinate complex solution development efforts from customer discovery through commercial transition.
  • Navigate ambiguity while balancing competing priorities across multiple strategic initiatives.

 

Market Intelligence & Innovation

  • Monitor market trends, policy developments, competitive dynamics, customer priorities, and emerging technologies.
  • Translate market intelligence into actionable recommendations for new service offerings, customer solutions, and strategic initiatives.
  • Champion innovative approaches that strengthen NextEra Energy's competitive position and long-term growth strategy.
  • Identify whitespace opportunities where NextEra Energy can expand into underserved markets or develop differentiated customer solutions.

 

Leadership & Mentorship

  • Mentor Lead Professionals and other team members by providing guidance on customer engagement strategy, solution development, and stakeholder management.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, continuous improvement, and customer-centric problem solving.
  • Serve as a recognized subject matter expert and trusted advisor across the organization.
  • Represent the Technical Solutions organization in executive presentations, customer engagements, and strategic planning initiatives.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, Business, Energy Systems, Economics, or a related STEM field; Master's degree preferred.
  • 7+ years of experience in the energy industry within technical consulting, customer solutions, business development, engineering, project development, strategy, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated success leading large, complex, customer-facing initiatives involving executive stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
  • Experience developing integrated energy solutions across commercial, industrial, utility, municipal, or public sector customers.
  • Strong understanding of energy infrastructure, renewable generation, distributed energy resources, storage, transmission, grid modernization, hydrogen, carbon management, and decarbonization strategies.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence strategic decisions across organizations without direct authority.
  • Experience improving business processes, developing scalable frameworks, or leading organizational initiatives that drive operational excellence.
  • Proven ability to identify emerging market opportunities and translate industry trends into customer solutions or business growth initiatives.
  • Excellent executive communication, facilitation, presentation, negotiation, and relationship management skills.
  • Strong analytical thinking with the ability to synthesize technical, commercial, and financial considerations into strategic recommendations.
  • Experience mentoring technical professionals and fostering cross-functional collaboration.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, CRM platforms, and project management tools.
  • Willingness to relocate to or work from NextEra Energy Headquarters in Juno Beach, FL.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with sales teams to define, design, and detail the technical aspects and feasibility of proposed solutions
  • Support technical discussions and solution design throughout the sales process in order to progress/close deals and build customer relationships
  • Deliver product demonstrations, technical education, and proof of concepts
  • Provide input on proposals and draft scope of work
  • Maintain an understanding of the customer’s industry, including industry trends, industry business processes
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned
