Position Specific Description

The role serves as a key leader within the Engineering, Construction & Supply Chain Solutions & Analytics group, acting as a strategic partner to business and functional leaders across the organization. Projects focus on solving complex, high-impact business challenges and improving operating performance across engineering, construction, and supply chain functions, in addition to broader business areas supporting NextEra’s renewable energy portfolio (wind, solar, and battery) and corporate operations. The group operates as an internal consulting and analytics organization, partnering with business leaders to identify, scope, and solve critical business issues, develop actionable strategies, and support implementation readiness. Project timelines typically include regular engagement and exposure to senior executives.

 

A Manager of Special Projects will lead end-to-end strategic engagements, owning project outcomes and driving alignment across cross-functional stakeholders. This role is responsible for structuring ambiguous problems, setting project direction, and ensuring high-quality delivery. The Manager will work closely with business and functional leaders to shape priorities, influence decision-making, and translate insights into executable plans, while also engaging senior executives at key points to inform and align on strategic direction. They will also provide leadership and mentorship to team members, fostering a high-performing, collaborative environment.

 

The core duties of this role involve:
• Leading the definition, scoping, and execution of complex strategic projects aligned with enterprise and functional priorities across engineering, construction, and supply chain
• Partnering directly with business and functional leaders to diagnose challenges and identify opportunities, with exposure to senior executives as part of project alignment and decision-making
• Guiding data gathering, synthesis, and advanced analysis to develop actionable insights and recommendations
• Overseeing the development of business cases, including financial modeling and ROI analysis, for strategic initiatives, pilots, and new technology deployment
• Driving cross-functional alignment and managing stakeholder relationships to enable effective decision-making and implementation
• Delivering clear, concise, and executive-ready communications and presentations to business leaders and senior leadership
• Identifying opportunities to enhance operating performance through advanced analytics, automation, and process optimization
• Leading the development of data-driven tools and models to optimize engineering, construction, and supply chain planning and execution
• Supporting and shaping cost optimization strategies across capital projects and operational portfolios
• Mentoring and developing junior team members, providing guidance on analytical approaches, problem structuring, and professional growth

• Proven experience leading complex projects and influencing business and functional stakeholders, with the ability to effectively engage senior executives

• Strong proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel

This job will use business management consulting skills to work with internal clients through all stages of strategy-based transformation engagements.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provides thought leadership and execution support on client assignments to craft strategy
  • Conducts both client and market development to grow the business
  • Consults with clients to identify, clarify, and solve problems critical to clients' strategy and operating success
  • Develops conclusions and recommendations, writes reports, assists in client presentations and provides implementation assistance as required
  • Constructs the analytical framework and work steps for each assignment, and leads the problem solving process associated
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned

  • Experience:8+ years
  • Supervisor/Management Experience:2+ years
