Position Specific Description
NextEra Energy Resources LLC is seeking an Mergers & Acquisitions Accounting Manager at the corporate headquarters in Juno Beach. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the technical accounting and due diligence efforts on a multitude of transactions involving business combinations, asset acquisitions, and business development activities. The candidate will be responsible for communicating diligence results to senior management, as well as transitioning projects to the operational accounting group. You will interact with business units throughout the organization, therefore your ability to work collaboratively with other areas of the business will be critical. Finally, you will be expected to provide guidance and direction to other team members and assist in developing the M&A accounting staff.
Candidates should possess a strong knowledge of current US GAAP, including an advanced understanding of business combinations, revenue recognition, lease accounting, consolidation, the fair value standard, and derivatives.

Job Duties & Responsibilities
• Prepares financial reports that are in compliance with GAAP and FERC, in a timely manner, to accurately reflect the financial position of the Company
• Provides accounting oversight to businesses and departments within the Company and ensures proper controls are in place for accurate financial reporting
• Ensures financial data integrity through the implementation and maintenance of a strong control environment
• Keeps abreast of, and applies GAAP, SEC regulations, and relevant company policies, practices, and procedures
• Manages professional staff, and effectively communicates and executes performance management
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor's Degree
• Experience: 8+ years
• Supervisor/Management Experience: 2+ years
Preferred Qualifications
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
• Master's - Business Administration
