Position Specific Description

NextEra Energy Power Origination is looking for a motivated, detailed-oriented, and growth-focused individual responsible for leveraging technology to enhance the Power Origination selling and marketing efforts.

 

Day to day responsibilities in this role will include:

  • Assisting in the development of new technology focused solutions that leverage data and information obtained from Power Origination’s Growth Initiatives such as Smart LED Streetlighting & Advanced Metering Infrastructure

  • Developing an understanding of Power Origination’s processes and approach to identify opportunities for improvements through technology

  • Being Power Origination’s representative in working with NextEra Energy’s Information Technology team to develop and integrate identified technology solutions and enhancements

  • Training the Power Origination team on new technology tools as well as troubleshoot issues

  • Maintaining a thorough understanding of the evolving, wide-ranging technology solutions that are available.

Job Overview

This job models and resolves unique or complex business cases, using extensive business systems expertise. Leaders in this role undertake the most complex projects involving multiple disciplines, which may impact multiple business units. This position undertakes complex projects requiring additional specialized technical knowledge specifically in commodity trading systems and risk management.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Makes well-thought-out decisions on complex or ambiguous quality assurance issues
  • Coordinates with users to plan user acceptance testing, alpha and beta testing
  • Ensures that system tests are successfully completed and documented and all problems are resolved
  • Ensures that all system documentation--both user and technical--is accurately maintained
  • Establishes and communicates common goals and directions for the tea
  • Acts as a source of direction, training and guidance for less experienced staff 
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned
     

Required Qualifications

  • High School Grad / GED    
  • Bachelor's or Equivalent Experience    
  • Experience: 6+ years

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree
