Position Specific Description

NextEra Energy’s Infrastructure Development organization is seeking a dynamic project manager to join the Digital Solutions & Analytics team.  In this high-impact role, you’ll drive innovation and efficiency across the development lifecycle, working with cutting-edge platforms like Discover & OMNI.

Key Responsibilities

  • Customer Focus: Understand the needs & expectations of users to prioritize features; support business teams with training user acceptance testing
  • Product Management: Drive enhancements to our core digital solutions (Discover & OMNI), overseeing value streams focused on cost, risk management, and other business needs
  • Collaboration: Partner with NEA and business stakeholders to align strategies with organizational objectives; partner with teams to identify opportunities for process optimization
  • Project Management: Work closely with stakeholders to define project objectives and establish timelines for delivery of solutions
  • Innovation: Foster new technology that enables business transformation and drives new ideas; conduct external research to stay abreast of industry trends
  • Leadership & Vision: Provide direction and strategic influence to achieve business goals

 

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with Discover, OMNI, and other core project development software
  • Experience in the energy sector including an understanding of renewable energy project development
  • Exceptional analytical, problem solving, and communication skills
  • Adept at multitasking and prioritizing effectively
  • Familiarity with the Agile methodology and project management practices

Job Overview

Employees in this role develop and execute plans for new and enhanced generation projects. This job is responsible for resource allocation, schedules, cost and technical adequacy, ensuring the project or transaction is completed in the most cost effective and competitive manner. This position manages all aspects of the business deal and ensures the project is completed timely and within budgetary constraints.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Manages all aspects of the day to day transaction process to ensure timely completion as well as a cost effective and competitive result
  • Leads and coordinates key functions such as financial feasibility analyses, engineering/design, project legal review, permitting activities and financial negotiations
  • Coordinates due diligence activities with other internal groups to ensure proper analysis and structuring of assigned projects
  • Acts as liaison between internal and external specialists regarding procurement, contracting, permitting and interconnection
  • Constructs contractual arrangements for project development
  • Negotiates agreements with consultants and subcontractors
  • Ensures compliance with applicable technical and regulatory requirements
  • Fosters external relationships with customers, third parties and members of the community
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • High School Grad/GED
  • Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent Experience
  • Experience:  3+ years
