Position Specific Description

The position responsibilities include working with employees at all levels across the enterprise to sustain and grow the Knowledge Sharing program. Candidates must be able to lead and manage technical improvement projects. The Knowledge Management SharePoint Programmer / Developer / Analyst provides skills and experience in development and execution of technical solutions to enable the operation, growth and enhancement of the knowledge sharing capabilities within NextEra. The employee is responsible for providing technical support to Employee ShareNet (ESN) network leadership teams and members. This position serves as a key interface between the ESN Program team and NextEra Energy’s IT department and other technical assistance providers. They also assist with identifying, cataloging, scoping, prioritizing and executing technical enhancements / innovations. 


This position develops and integrates new or existing applications into the technical infrastructure and existing business processes. Employees in this role lead technical projects and work teams as needed to develop and implement innovative software solutions and enhancements.


To be successful you need to have Javascript, JQuery, JSON, Bootstrap, CSS, XML/XSLT, SPFx coding experience and a bachelor’s degree in Information Systems or related discipline.


Specific Responsibilities Include:

  • Collaborates closely with business and IT in gathering requirements to design, build and implement solutions to assist with access, features, functionality, categorization, and successful information management
  • Collaborates with users to recommend and implement solutions to moderately complex infrastructure using technical knowledge and business acumen
  • Designs, codes, tests, debugs and documents programs, and maintains a full knowledge of systems analysis and programming
  • Develops customized programming solutions, and maintains existing system functionality
  • Ensures user satisfaction by providing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting and timely resolution of more complex problems and communicating status to internal customers 
  • Leads software development lifecycle, including analysis, design, configuring, programming, and unit testing for information worker applications based on Microsoft technologies
  • Leads research, troubleshooting, and coordinates exploratory work across teams to resolve and implement solutions for complex problems
  • Configure knowledge management solutions using out of the box Microsoft 365 / SharePoint and the ability to code and administer more complex solutions
  • Follow custom development policies, standards and guidelines for application development, change management and support. Participates in standards and guideline design and documentation
  • Helps build organizational capability by training Power Users and End Users on features and functionality
  • Drives and promotes standard capabilities and features to develop and document business processes, workflows, and productivity enhancements based requirements to improve and increase operational efficiency
  • Assists in updating of business sites to achieve a consistent and standard deployment
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned


Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems or related discipline
  • 5+ years of Microsoft 365 (Workflow, Teams, Yammer, Power Platform, etc.) / SharePoint Experience
  • Must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills 



  • Certifications as Developer in Microsoft 365 / Microsoft Power Platform (PowerBI and PowerAutomate).
  • Web Technologies
  • Content “Search” solutions
  • Experience with one or more appropriate high-level languages (e.g. Javascript, JQuery, JSON, Bootstrap, CSS, XML/XSLT, SPFx)
  • Experience working with Page Layouts and Master Pages using SharePoint Designer for SharePoint Classic experience.
  • Experience with Object Oriented Programming Techniques, Taxonomy, Content Management, Custom coding, User interface design
  • Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written).
  • Ability to multi-task.
  • Candidate must be self-starter with excellent work ethic

This position works individually, and as part of a team using best practices in software development methodologies. Employees collaborate with other areas to understand requirements and drive continuous improvement of Smart Grid software applications.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Supports daily system operations within a specify discipline on a continual basis
  • Writes, translates, and codes software programs and applications consistently to specifications and development standards per specific discipline
  • Writes programming scripts to enhance functionality and/or performance of company applications as necessary
  • Assists in defining software development project plans, including scopes, schedules, and implementation
  • Liaises with network administrators, systems analysts, database administrators, external vendors, and software engineers to assist in resolving problems with software products or company software systems
  • Develops an understanding of relevant system administration tasks including backup/recovery of systems and disaster recovery
  • Designs, runs and monitors software performance tests on new and existing programs for the purposes of correcting errors, isolating areas for improvement, and general debugging
  • Conducts research on emerging application development software products, languages, and standards in support of procurement, development and maintenance efforts
  • Meets attendance and storm duty requirements and has the ability to work extended hours
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned

  • Bachelor’s or Equivalent Experience
  • Experience: 4+ years
