Position Specific Description

NextEra is focused on optimizing the role IT employees play in delivering business value to the company. One of the company’s focus areas is moving routine application support work to strategic vendors to free up employees that focus on delivering new technologies to the business. To achieve this goal, the IT Technology Leader and Service Delivery Manager is responsible for leading employees and managing vendors to develop and maintain processes, procedures, tools, and technologies that align with ITIL practices.  As an IT Technology Leader and Service Delivery Manager you will first utilize your experience in support to take responsibility for managing the overall and ongoing delivery of IT services. This position is focused on providing oversight, ensuring consistency, and providing leadership to employees and vendors supporting NextEra’s Managed Services organization.  



  • Oversee all IT support activities for complex SAP (S/4HANA, BW/4HANA, C4C, NetWeaver) and mainframe (z/OS) installations.  
  • All HR activities for team of NextEra Energy support employees.  
  • Participate in team that provides leadership and coordination of activities to resolve high priority incidents.  
  • Provide internal and executive visibility and status of critical issues and escalations.
  • Align service delivery requirements to manage dependencies and priorities across all required internal service delivery teams.
  • Perform Risk Review, Reporting and Mitigation tasks.
  • Develop, prepare and deliver monthly and quarterly quality of service and performance reports, necessary to demonstrate measurement and compliance to contracted services.
  • Develop and manage the documentation, validation, and communication of all contractual service level breaches with corresponding penalties.
  • Ensure that daily operational and project workloads are completed in accordance with contracted service delivery provisions, account priorities and in accordance with operational and project policies and procedures.
  • Field, document, communicate and status customer requests and concerns.
  • Perform ITIL Change management activities and schedule for all performed changes.
  • Work with Dev/Ops teams on the delivery, integration and transition of projects and deliverables into operational support.
  • Initiate and manage Problem Management activities.
  • Drive resolution of SLA breaches and recurring service delivery or systems performance issues.
  • Coordinate internal communication and prioritization of recommendations and requirements that support the effective and efficient delivery of services.
  • Service delivery improvements, including process, procedure, and technical solution architecture.

This position establishes strategy, develops business plans, and oversees and leads in the design, development and implementation of technology solutions to meet business needs. Leaders in this role provide leadership and oversight to manage performance and results in one or more Information Technology (IT) disciplines. Individuals will be accountable for the reliability, performance, security, and continuity of IT systems and supported business processes.

  • Works with IT leaders to develop overall IT strategy in alignment with business strategy
  • Oversees value stream by focusing on cost and risks of technology portfolio to meet business needs
  • Supports and fosters innovative technologies to deliver new ideas that enable business transformation
  • Ensures high levels of ongoing system and application performance in production environments
  • Oversees development of processes and tools to automate code releases from development to operations (DevOps)
  • Attracts, develops and retains a high-performing and diverse team
  • Establishes and drives technology roadmaps that align with current and future business needs
  • Manages third party technical and outsourcing relationships to deliver project and operational support objectives
  • Ensures technology processes are conducted in line with applicable standards and company policies
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • High School Grad / GED
  • Bachelor's or Equivalent Experience
  • Experience: 7+ years

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Supervisor/Management Experience: 2+ years
