Position Specific Description

This internship position will support NextEra Energy’s Enterprise Architecture (EA) team, which focuses on enterprise technology strategy.  We drive standardization and reuse across IT and de-risk the portfolio by promoting principles like the AWS Well-Architected Framework

 

The candidate will have exposure to a wide variety of IT areas including DevOps, Data Science, API/integrations and platforms including ServiceNow, SAP and Salesforce.  The internship will focus on providing analytical support to one or more key functions.

 

Potential opportunities:

 

ServiceNow Application Portfolio Management – Learn current application technology and business capabilities across different business units. Create visualizations and reports to analyze and improve data while identifying improvement and cost-reduction opportunities.

Enterprise Search – Assist with development, testing, and debugging, of a cognitive search platform built upon the well-known and industry recognized ElasticSearch open source search technology.

 

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Graduate/ Working toward bachelor's degree in: Computer Science, Information Technology, Math, Engineering

  • Excellent listening, written and oral communication skills

  • Self-starting, able to quickly learn and work in new software tools (e.g. ServiceNow)

  • Experience with Office 365 suite of apps (Excel, Teams, SharePoint, etc..)

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in systems development/analysis, Cloud computing (AWS), Web Technologies

  • Programming using any of the following: Java, JSON, HTML, C#, Mobile App Development, and C++.

  • Knowledge of Agile Methodologies a plus

To be considered for an internship, you must be actively enrolled at a college or university as a full-time student seeking a bachelor’s degree or higher. You must also have a current cumulative GPA of 3.00 or higher (on a 0.00 to 4.00 scale).

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assists department with assigned projects
  • Completes challenging projects and assignments
  • Presents final project to senior leadership at the end of the internship
  • Assumes responsibility for own travel, lodging, and transportation necessary to be available for the program
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • High school grad / GED
  • Maintain active enrollment in a Bachelor or higher degree program
  • Maintain cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
