Position Specific Description

Our cybersecurity team is the best in the industry. Our mission is to develop a risk and security-focused culture that delivers world class cyber solutions and processes that protect NextEra Energy’s company assets and spans all employees and affiliates.

Join our cybersecurity team as a 2023 summer intern supporting our operational excellence and compliance teams. we’re looking for an intern to work with our teams on improving our current processes. In this role, the candidate will lead and drive change in different areas of cybersecurity especially on processes standardization and performance. 

 

 Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate cybersecurity processes, gather requirements, design, and implement solution
  • Assists cybersecurity teams with assigned projects
  • Design and execute specific projects
  • Create and coordinate executive presentations on projects and updates
  • Constantly improve KPI metrics reporting
  • Demonstrate an enthusiastic attitude toward engagement and brainstorm solutions to improve user experience
  • Help to identify, evaluate, and prioritize risks
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned
  • Present final project to senior leadership at the end of the internship

Job Overview

To be considered for an internship, you must be actively enrolled at a college or university as a full-time student seeking a bachelor’s degree or higher. You must also have a current cumulative GPA of 3.00 or higher (on a 0.00 to 4.00 scale).

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assists department with assigned projects
  • Completes challenging projects and assignments
  • Presents final project to senior leadership at the end of the internship
  • Assumes responsibility for own travel, lodging, and transportation necessary to be available for the program
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • High school grad / GED
  • Maintain active enrollment in a Bachelor or higher degree program
  • Maintain cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
