Position Specific Description

Employees in this role lead the design and implementation of enterprise-scale data architecture strategies to support AI-driven analytics and planning across FPL and FPL EMT business processes. They work closely with stakeholders in grid dispatch, fuel forecasting, and energy marketing to align technical solutions with strategic goals. The role requires deep expertise in cloud architecture, data governance, and AI integration. 

 

Job Description: 
This position contributes to the development of centralized, distributed, or hybrid data architectures that enable AI agents and analytics tools to support EMT business processes. The employee will lead the implementation of secure, scalable AWS environments, define metadata and governance frameworks, and architect data flows that support semantic labeling and self-service analytics. The role also involves planning integration with MCP servers and custom connectors to support AI agent infrastructure for dispatch optimization, fuel cost forecasting, and market analysis. 

 

Job Roles / Responsibilities: 
i. Design enterprise data architecture strategies based on performance, cost, and EMT business requirements 
ii. Lead technical discussions with EMT stakeholders to define data architecture specifications 
iii. Architect secure, multi-account AWS environments  
iv. Plan integration strategy with MCP servers and custom connectors for AI agents 
v. Define metadata management and semantic labeling frameworks  
vi. Oversee implementation of data governance practices including access control and lineage tracking 
viii. Architect optimized data pipelines for collection, transformation, and indexing across dispatch, fuel, and market data 

 

Skills Required: 

  • Expertise in AWS data services and infrastructure-as-code (CloudFormation/CDK) 

  • Experience with metadata management tools 

  • Strong understanding of data governance and security 

  • Ability to architect scalable, fault-tolerant systems 

  • Familiarity with AI agent integration and semantic data modeling

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Works with business partners to analyze strategy and trends to define the requirements, principles, and models that guide technology decisions
  • Communicates and enforces technology standards with business partners
  • Understands industry trends and the practical application of existing, new, and emerging technologies
  • Drives digital innovation and develops roadmaps through new technologies and approaches to fulfill strategic business plans
  • Defines high-level migration plans to address gaps in current state
  • Coaches, mentors, and leads technical subject matters experts to enable and drive consistency across technology architectures
  • Designs and owns governance, assurance and standards activities for enterprise technology architecture compliance
  • Oversees and facilitates the evaluation, risk assessment, selection, and design of hardware and software technology and product standards
  • Delivers technology architecture artifacts, possibly including reference architectures or concepts of operation
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • High School Grad / GED
  • Bachelor’s or Equivalent Experience
  • Experience: 8+ years
