Position Specific Description

NextEra Energy Resources, together with its affiliated entities, is the world’s largest generator of renewable energy from the wind and sun and a world leader in battery storage. The business operates clean, emissions-free nuclear power generation facilities in New Hampshire, Iowa and Wisconsin as part of the NextEra Energy nuclear fleet, which is one of the largest in the United States.

The NexterEra Energy Resources Development Business Unit is seeking a GIS Specialist to join their team in our Head Office, Juno Beach, FL. 

 

In this role you will have the opportunity to work with management and project developers to understand and prioritize user requirements; coordinating successful completion of projects including quality deliverables; data modeling to design and support moderately complex special products including maps, digital data, reports and statistics; identifying and delivering innovative solutions to meet dynamic business needs for the company.  You will also have the chance to produce high quality maps and posters for management to utilize in communicating and marketing the company's strategy to state and federal government representatives, while also providing analysis and support to all business units.

 

Job Overview

Employees in this role provide Geographic Information System (GIS) data analysis, data mining, technical support and database maintenance to meet Florida City Gas internal and external customers’ requirements.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assists with development and maintenance of GIS data resources to be utilized for geographic data of Florida City Gas
  • Assists with the data gathering and compilation, Geographic Information Systems, GPS, mapping, and data analysis
  • Performs varied data gathering and entry to create, maintain, display and update Geographic Information Systems databases, coverages, and linkages to various GIS databases
  • Produces accurate maps and other representations of data for business use and field work activity
  • Performs field visits to visually locate items to resolve conflicting information and ensure the accuracy of data
  • Records and documents details of map updates, additions and/or deletions
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • High School Grad / GED
  • Experience: 1+ years

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Equivalent Experience
  • Experience: 3+ years
