Position Specific Description

NextEra Energy Resources, LLC is seeking a Financial Analyst to join our NEER Finance team, which is responsible for performing key financial functions related to the company’s portfolio of renewable electric generating facilities and associated financings. In this role, you will be part of our Equity Finance Group which supports the Company’s portfolio of tax equity and other structured equity financings.  As a Financial Analyst in our Equity Finance Group, you will be involved in the following:

  • Onboarding new tax equity financings, which includes collaborating with our Treasury team and other cross-functional groups to operationalize new financing portfolios
  • Maintaining tax equity IRR (Internal Rate of Return) tracking models, and related accounting model (under HLBV or Hypothetical Liquidation of Book Value)
  • Supporting ad-hoc analyses and running financing scenarios for management and investors (including buyouts and portfolio review for strategic planning)
  • Preparing and/or reviewing cash contributions and distributions and other reporting deliverables to investors
  • Working with our accounting and reporting group to record and report financing activities
  • Budgeting and forecasting financing activities
  • Supporting our tax department on preparation of partnership tax returns


Ideal candidates will have a strong drive, desire to learn new things and a will to succeed and take ownership of assigned portfolio, adding value through critical thinking and strong interpersonal skills. Also, the ideal candidate will have the following: 

        •  Proficiency in Excel

        •  Experience with Financial Modeling

        •  Partnerships Tax experience

        •  Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
        •  Chartered Financial Analyst  (CFA)

Job Overview

Employees in this role supports Senior Management decision making via financial modeling, including but not limited to, revenue requirement and customer bill impacts, discounted cash flow analysis and financial statement modeling.  This position identifies and conducts moderately complex analyses of financial impacts of issues and/or decisions facing the company and proposes strategies to maximize financial performance of company.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

•   Identifies, analyzes, and communicates to management the impact on the Company's financial structure, profitability, financial integrity, and competitive position utilizing relevant analytical methods and/or department’s forecasting models
•   Provides financial analysis support for various projects, calculating revenue requirements, net present value, customer bill impact, etc.
•   Provides expertise, support, and financial training for the company departments requiring these services
•   Performs financial analyses as required by management or regulatory bodies
•   Prepares PowerPoint presentations to be provided to Senior and Executive Management 
•   Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

•  High School Grad / GED
•  Bachelor's or Equivalent Experience
•  Experience: 3+ years

Preferred Qualifications

•  Bachelor's - Accounting / Finance
•  Master's - Business Administration
