Job Title: Director of Strategic Initiatives, Business Management Transformation Office

Job Overview:
NextEra is seeking a highly experienced Director of Strategic Initiatives to join the newly formed Transformation Office within the Business Management organization. Business Management owns the P&L for the world’s largest portfolio of renewable assets and is responsible for ensuring these assets meet financial commitments.
This includes:
- Acting as the CEO of the assets
- Driving optimal commercial and regulatory outcomes
- Maximizing revenue and optimizing operational performance
This strategic, results-oriented leader will represent Business Management across multiple enterprise-wide initiatives to transform operations, finance, and risk management, aligned with our transformation vision.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the transformation of capital project approval and risk management by applying AI, advanced analytics, and scenario modeling to accelerate decisions, optimize resource allocation, and align with risk and financial goals.
- Transform operational performance and profitability by scaling forecasting, monitoring, and TCO optimization across the fleet to drive efficiency and maximize asset value.
- Enhance operational capabilities and data-driven decisions to drive fleet-wide performance improvements, operational efficiency, profitability, and strategic forecasting, while optimizing total cost of ownership.
- Integrate digital strategy and innovation across finance and operations to increase agility, transparency, and data-driven decision-making.
- Facilitate agile change management, guiding teams to deliver quick wins and preparing Business Management for long-term transformational success.
- Establish and lead the Transformation Office, developing governance frameworks, best practices, and performance metrics to ensure accountability and effective execution.
- Collaborate with product owners, subject matter experts, and cross-functional teams to ensure cohesive execution and address implementation challenges.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
- 10+ years of experience in financial operations, digital transformation, or strategic planning roles, preferably within energy or asset-intensive industries.
- Proven expertise in enterprise or finance transformation, including innovation initiatives.
- Demonstrated leadership and team-building skills, with a track record of cross-functional collaboration.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to align stakeholders across all levels.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities in complex environments.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience at a top-tier consulting or management firm, with a focus on strategic transformation, operational optimization, or driving and delivering corporate special projects.
- In-depth knowledge of asset management and renewable energy markets
- Experience implementing digital strategy and finance innovation initiatives, with expertise in AI integration and best practices in technology-driven transformations.
- Ability to navigate complex stakeholder environments, regulatory frameworks, and risk management landscapes.
Job Overview
This position is responsible for using business management consulting skills to work with internal clients through all stages of strategy-based transformation engagements.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Providing thought leadership and execution support on client assignments to craft strategy and then refocus an organization on making that strategy a reality
- Consulting with clients to identify, clarify, and solve problems critical to clients' strategic and operating success by developing insight, conducting independent analysis, and working with clients to assure assignment progress
- Developing conclusions and recommendations, writing reports, assisting in client presentations and providing implementation assistance as required
- Presenting to senior executives • Constructing the analytical framework and work steps for each assignment, and leading the problem solving associated
- Conducting both client and market development to grow the business
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned
