Position Specific Description

EverBright is a clean energy company on a mission to accelerate the decarbonization of residences and businesses across the United States. We are a leading provider of financing for residential solar, storage, and energy efficiency products, fueling our rapid growth through innovative software solutions. We understand that the energy systems of tomorrow will be clean, distributed, and powered by advanced technology.

 

We are seeking a well-qualified candidate who is passionate about driving the clean energy revolution by providing solar companies with innovative software.  As a QA Manager, you will be asked to: 

  • Lead and manage the daily activities of a distributed QA team.  
  • Responsible for quality signoff, and releases on a scheduled cadence. 
  • Work closely with our engineering teams to deliver quality software in an Agile environment. 
  • Take ownership of defect tracking and resolution using Jira. 
  • Work collaboratively with internal stakeholders and ensure software quality meets their needs.  
  • Own and manage test automations, acceptance tests and regression tests. 
  • Perform all duties of a direct supervisor for each team member, including resource planning, weekly one-on-ones, quarterly performance check ins, and annual reviews.

This position will be responsible for leading a team of QA engineers, motivating them to test and release a high quality, scalable, and secure software application.  The ideal candidate will be just as passionate about building great teams as they are about building great software and will constantly be looking for ways to drive engagement, quality, and improve outcomes.  

 

Job Duties 

  • Directly manage team of QA engineers 
  • Lead scoping and sprint planning within your team 
  • Understand, triage, and assign defects to be solved to respective engineering teams 
  • Identify and scope infrastructure or tooling changes to impact efficiency and/or quality 
  • Lead contributor and owner of process and QA team structure decisions 
  • Directly impact our ability to grow quickly while improving operational efficiencies 
  • Preferred Qualifications 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering 
  • Previous experience in the solar and/or renewable energy industry; previous experience with B2B software 
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high growth environment 
  • A high level of energy, motivation, initiative, commitment, and professionalism 

Job Overview

Employees in this role are responsible for all Information Technology aspects of FPL Energy Services.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Oversees long-term Information Technology strategy
  • Provides guidance and support for day-to-day Information Technology activities
  • Interacts with FPL Energy Services Lead team
  • Researches the future of the Information Technology landscape and opportunities
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned
