Position Specific Description

The Acquisition team at NextEra Energy Transmission and NextEra Water is responsible for engaging with counterparties, financial advisors, and legal counsel during the deal process in order to negotiate terms and conditions which meet corporate requirements to complete an acquisition.  The team also leads and coordinates transaction due diligence with all internal subject matter experts assisting with transaction.

 

 In this position you will have responsibility for the following: 

  • Leading due diligence efforts for acquisitions and collaborating and coordinating with internal and external subject matter experts
  • Coordinate with legal to prepare transaction related communications including bid letters, letters of intent, and negotiation and review of purchase and sale agreements
  • Supporting the financial modeling efforts by reviewing and developing acquisition models; perform financial transaction analysis including:  accretion / dilution, investment returns, credit analyses, financing, and competitor analysis
  • Collaborating with the operations team to forecast operating costs and identify capital improvements
  • Supporting efforts to make necessary regulatory filings to secure regulatory approvals
  • Support efforts to integrate acquired businesses into NextEra Energy by working collaboratively with a cross-functional team of internal business leaders

 

Ideal candidate should possess the following:

  • Ability to work on matrixed team in a fast paced environment
  • Ability to manage multiple competing priorities
  • Strong analytical skills – including expertise in Excel
  • Strong communication skills – interpersonal as well as the ability to create presentations
  • Bachelor's Degree in finance, accounting or technical field highly preferred
  • MBA, CPA, or relevant graduate degree highly desirable

Job Overview

Oversees a team that identifies and conducts complex analyses of financial impacts of issues and/or decisions facing the company and proposes strategies to maximize financial performance of company.

Required Qualifications

•  Bachelor's Degree
•  Experience: 10+ years
•  Supervisor/Management Experience: 5+ years

Preferred Qualifications

•  Bachelor's - Accounting / Finance
•  Master's Degree
