Position Specific Description
NextEra Energy is seeking a dedicated and experienced Director of Renewable Natural Gas Forecasting to join our team and contribute to the growth and success of our RNG initiatives.
This position will play a crucial role in ensuring the successful forecasting of RNG production and landfill logistics and utilize overall RNG industry expertise in a key role to enable business success. Your responsibilities will include analyzing current Landfill Gas and RNG production trends, evaluating landfill capacity projections and wellfield improvement plans, and formulating growth plans to meet the increasing demand for RNG. With your expertise in gas production and landfill operations, and industry you will provide valuable insights and recommendations that will directly impact the company’s RNG business strategy.
Responsibilities:
· Analyze historical data, industry trends, and market conditions to develop accurate forecasts for RNG production on a daily, monthly, and annual basis.
· Establish a regular cadence with host Landfill staff and decision makers to facilitate ongoing evaluation of existing landfill capacities and projected expansion plans to assess the potential for wellfield improvements and increased RNG production and utilization.
· Collaborate with multiple internal stakeholders, including Engineering, Operations, and Business Development teams, to develop growth plans that align with the company's overall RNG business objectives.
· Conduct cost-benefit analysis and financial evaluations to assess the profitability and feasibility of RNG projects, including assessing risks and recommending mitigation strategies.
· Stay updated on industry developments and technology advancements related to RNG production, transportation, and distribution to identify potential opportunities and risks.
· Prepare accurate and timely reports, including RNG production forecasts, capacity utilization reports, and growth plan updates, to facilitate informed decision-making by senior management.
· Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure effective coordination and communication between RNG production, logistics, and other interconnected processes.
· Keep up-to-date with relevant regulations, permits, and compliance standards to ensure that RNG operations meet all legal and environmental requirements.
· Advise and collaborate on RNG business planning, development and optimization
Job Overview
Employees in this role are responsible for leading and coordinating key functions of a project such as financial feasibility analysis, engineering/design, project legal review and financial negotiations. The position plays a key role in building strategic relationships and executing major contracts necessary to support the Company’s generating business growth initiatives. This role reviews and oversees the development of key project agreements. This role is responsible for all aspects of the business deal and will be involved in the closure of multiple projects.

- Translates company financial, commercial, risk management, technical and operating goals into effective contracting strategies and objectives
- Develops and maintains effective relationships with internal stakeholders and external strategic partners
- Assembles and leads internal cross functional, multi-disciplined teams through the solicitation and negotiation processes
- Provides overall leadership and drive key decisions during negotiations
- Delivers on contracting objectives and proforma requirements
- Delivers contracts that position the internal project execution team for maximum success
- Manages the contracting budget and schedule for assigned projects
- Provides periodic updates to and interact with senior management
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
- High School Grad/GED
- Bachelor's or Equivalent Experience
- Experience: 10+ years
