Position Specific Description

This role is a key leadership and operations lead within NextEra’s Enterprise Data Platform (EDP).The individual should have a strong passion for driving value from data, encouraging engagement, and supporting enterprise level data use/reuse. There are three key components to this Agile Leader role.


As a Data Consumption leader this individual should: 

•Understand how data is consumed in a variety of patterns across NextEra, including, for example, through reports, dashboards, and APIs
•Manage administration and support activities for enterprise BI solutions 
•Help the BI Consumption team innovate, using new tools and techniques
•Drive standards and best practices for BI based consumption 
•Train, develop and grow teams so they can be highly impactful 


As a Data Product Manager this individual should: 
•Empathize with data consumers to help understand their needs and pain points as well as to articulate those needs as opportunities for new features to be created in EDP
•Communicate a clear vision, strategy, and expected benefits to a variety of stakeholders including IT and BU leadership, team members and partner groups 
•Analyze tradeoffs and prioritize features to be added to the EDP product suite for maximum impact and business value
•Facilitate discussions to collaborate on new features, solution approaches, and overall product direction 
•Regularly deliver product demos and presentations on new features 
•Participate in discussions related to product development to ensure incremental value in each release or capability enabled
As a Data Governance leader this individual should also: 
•Have the ability to influence and motivate cross-functional partners to participate in data governance activities 
•Coordinate recurring data governance working group meetings including planning agendas and communicating meeting minutes 
•Identify opportunities to improve cross-functional collaboration and support for data governance activities 
•Oversee data governance activities necessary for successful data discovery including but not limited to the data dictionary, business glossary and metadata collection efforts  

Job Overview

This position guides teams in the execution of agile initiatives to deliver customer value. Employees in this role train and coach in the use of Scrum, Lean, Kanban, XP, and scale agile framework practices.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Trains and coaches leaders, teams, Product Owners, and Scrum Masters in Lean-Agile practices and mindset 
  •  Contributes in Communities of Practice (CoP), within the agile network 
  •  Promotes and encourages collaboration and transparency and builds trusting relationships between business, delivery, and other entities within the organization 
  •  Facilitates periodic synchronization meetings across several different onsite and distributed delivery teams 
  •  Prepares program and release backlogs, as well as team and program objectives 
  •  Tracks, promotes, and publishes completed program features and program and team objectives 
  •  Manages risk and dependencies, communicates and escalates impediments to facilitate transparency, and reduces bottlenecks 
  •  Embraces a continuous improvement mindset, and drives the use of agile engineering best practices and innovation 
  •  Reports on standardized program-level metrics, and understands, tracks, and operates within the program budget 
  •  Plays an instrumental role in the organization's Agile transformation, acts as a change agent, and shows strong leadership skills with a positive and collaborative attitude 
  •  Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • High School Grad / GED 
  •  Bachelor's or Equivalent Experience 
  •  Experience: 6+ years

Preferred Qualifications

  • Supervisor/Management/Leadership Experience: 2+ years
