Position Specific Description
This role is part of our Corporate Security team working in conjunction with the Physical Security Specialists to design, build and test physical security infrastructure to ensure system integrity. The success of this individual is accomplished by analyzing business processes and practices in an effort to focus the design and implementation of information technology solutions that meet customer needs and business initiatives. The NextEra Energy Corporate Security Department provides comprehensive enterprise wide security monitoring accomplished by a 24/7 Security Operations Center. The Corporate Security Systems Administrator position provides systems technology support to the security department. This role is responsible for performing skilled technical work in the installation, maintenance, modification, and testing of our physical security infrastructure and applications. Daily responsibilities include: • Coordinates and manages the Video Surveillance system including but not limited to programming of new installation of both cameras and NVRs, routine maintenance of system, and training of new personnel on operation of the enterprise video system Preferred Qualifications: • Architecting and implementing storage & data management solutions • Maximize system availability and performance through fault-tolerant configuration, efficient network architecture, and proactive server monitoring
• Manage enterprise-wide projects to include database support and understanding of data integration points and data warehouses
• Monitor and ensure full NERC CIP compliance relative to physical security equipment and be competent to perform audit interviews
• Troubleshooting, configuration and implementation of physical security perimeters in the access control, video management, radar, license plate reader system, and burglar alarm system
• Documenting systems support processes as well as physical security perimeters with access control points, camera views, etc. to meet regulations and internal specifications
• Updating company internal website and Microsoft SharePoint sites
• Maintaining the electronic key system as well as the investigative database
• Work directly with our Security supplier to program all aspects of onboarding a new security system (i.e. access control, CCTV, etc) to include IP’ing the devices, adding them to the enterprise Video Management System, configuring permissions and updating maps.
• BA/BS in Computer Science or related field or equivalent work experience is required
• 1+ years of project management experience
• Experience with NERC CIP Compliance preferred
• Experience with MS SQL databases is preferred
• MCP, Network+, and/or Security+ certifications are a plus
• Experience building and maintaining systems including:
• Outstanding customer service skills, as well as excellent verbal and written communications skills.
