Position Specific Description

EverBright is seeking an experienced consumer compliance professional to fill the role of Compliance Manager – Consumer Protection. This role will be responsible for fair lending, UDAAP and complaints oversight to ensure that day-to-day business operations are conducted in with compliance with relevant laws, rules and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a fair lending and UDAAP subject matter expert, delivering accurate compliance advice and direction to internal stakeholders
  • Conduct risk assessments and analysis to evaluate fair lending/UDAAP risks within the organization and collaborate with Operations Compliance to develop remediation action plans related to pricing, marketing, underwriting, deal processing and collections processes
  • Partner with the business units to establish or enhance workflows and internal controls to mitigate fair lending and UDAAP risks
  • Provide oversight and tracking of compliance related complaints, including related reviews, investigations, and proposed responses. Define and assign action plans for any identified control gaps
  • Establish compliance KPIs, metrics and reporting to provide actionable insights on complaint trends and emerging risks and communicate results to the operations teams and senior leadership
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with business partners and matrix partners across the organization
  • Manage updates to the Fair Lending, UDAAP, Complaints Management, Dealer Oversight and Installer Oversight policies
  • Identify and address training needs by partnering with business units and Compliance Training team
  • Prepare and present periodic reports and dashboards to the CCO and executive leadership through reporting routines
  • Hire, train and manage staff
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

 

Preferred Skills/Qualifications

  • Compliance experience with consumer lending products in financial services or banking sectors
  • Extensive knowledge of consumer protection laws and regulations
  • Experience in implementing and overseeing Fair Lending, UDAAP, complaint and sales practice oversight practices
  • Ability to communicate effectively across different audiences and simplify complex topics and distill information down to essential points
  • CRCM or FLE certification strongly preferred

 

Job Overview

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assists business units in the preparation and submittal of documents required for compliance and related legal proceedings           
  • Interacts with compliance teams, regulatory groups and other company personnel to build relationships, address compliance issues, develop advocacy plans and resolve problems 
  • Analyzes and communicates the impact of key regulatory issues related to strategic business goals and potential market impact           
  • Monitors standard approval process at the applicable level and participates in workshop panels and submits comments as required          
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • High School Grad / GED
  • Bachelor’s or Equivalent Experience
  • Experience: 8+ years         
  • Leadership Experience: 2+ years
