Position Specific Description

NextEra Energy is seeking an experienced individual to be part of the Engineering & Technical Services team that supports the power generation plant fleet.  The ideal candidate has high capability and drive for personal growth, is well organized and process oriented, communicates effectively and excels at building relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

 

Position responsibilities include planning of maintenance and upgrade efforts associated with structures, systems and equipment related to power generating plants.  Job also involves managing the ‘Structural Maintenance Program’ – which is an ongoing reliability program pertaining to repair and recoating of plant structures and equipment across the fleet.  Job also includes other associated activities as assigned.

 

Duties include job identification, scope validation, cost estimating, scheduling and developing job specific work instructions.  Duties also include developing bid documents for procurement of materials and services as well as administering contracts in support of plant outage execution.  Teammate will be expected to work under general guidance – while streamlining activities through the use of standardized processes and procedures, problem solving and collaboration within and across business units.

This individual will need to be able to travel to plant sites (on the average of 4 days per month) and respond at night, on weekends or during holidays via telephone or in person (due to nature of power generation being a ‘round the clock’ business).

 

This position can be based in various locations within Florida

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in project management.
  • Experience in civil/structural infrastructure.
  • Knowledge in protective coating systems and proper application.
  • Experience with Maximo or similar enterprise asset management system.
  • Ability to develop/modify job plans, preventative maintenance (PM) tasks and work orders.
  • Six Sigma certification.
