Position Specific Description

  • Responsible for managing a team of category specialist overseeing complex categories of materials and/or services.  You will be supporting the development of the procurement strategies and driving the strategy execution to support the realization of value creation to meet your respective business units’ challenges. 
  • Create, implement, and promote value cultivation with a strong communication plan (internally and externally) to achieve a structured and resilient supply chain.
  • Accountable for the development and implementation of cost-based reduction strategies capable of delivering annual, year-over-year target savings.
  • Support and conduct research and analysis trends and customer purchasing habits.
  • Build effective supplier relationships while maintaining appropriate supplier performance levels. 
  • Communicate long term strategy plans to the management team highlighting any trends or issues and opportunities. 

Job Overview

This role leads a team of Category Specialists. Employees in the job lead category strategies for critical and highest impact categories for the enterprise. Employees in this role lead or oversee negotiations and identify improvements to secure cost savings and improve quality and efficiency. Individuals own senior-level supplier relationships, as well as internal stakeholder relationships.

  • Approves major contracts and leads strategic supplier negotiations
  • Engages with top suppliers to negotiate MSAs and maintain partnerships

Required Qualifications

  • High School Grad / GED
  • Bachelor's or Equivalent Experience
  • Experience: 8+ Years
