Position Specific Description

At NextEra Energy, the production of strategic and engaging visual content is a critical component of the company’s internal and external communication strategy. From producing videos about wind and solar site development, to including videos with product marketing and informational campaigns, the need for video content continues to grow. At NextEra Energy, we aim to deliver content that informs, engages and drives results among our customers, employees and key stakeholders.

 

This position resides in the marketing and communication business unit with the video production and broadcast team. In this position, the successful candidate will help develop concepts for and produce effective visual communications that help NextEra Energy meet strategic communication objectives. This includes assisting with the development of engaging visual communications (creative thinking for messaging and brand alignments, producing, scriptwriting, scheduling, pre- and post-production planning) to support visual communications that motivate, engage, inform and drive action among internal and external audiences.

 

As part of the video production and broadcast team, this candidate will work with requesters to help identify visual approach, manage production workflow and produce content for various channels including intranet (internal employee audience), social media, media (news), conferences and other channels and venues, as needed. The successful candidate will also support planning visuals for and execution of live events and webcasts as they play an integral role in supporting today’s virtual meeting/working environments and the company’s digital collaboration needs.

 

The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in visual strategy and communication, video production experience, the ability to create engaging content with a purpose. This candidate has strong knowledge of video production workflow, along with basic video shooting and editing capabilities. This candidate stays abreast of content trends and emerging technologies in the industry. This person is creative, reliable, organized and passionate about providing strategic visuals, while exceeding expectations.

 

 

Key areas of responsibility:

· Work with business partners to determine visual and content production approach to achieve desired results. This includes developing tactics to engage audience and drive action, assessing success and engagement, and garnering and tracking metrics.

· Develop content for internal and external channels, including the company’s intranet and social media channels for the purposes of public relations, social media and internal corporate communications, campaigns, training and meetings.

· Create video pre- and post-production plans and schedule; assist with production coordination

· Scriptwriting

· Collaborate with the team manager and freelance/vendor team to produce video content and support pre-production and post-production activities.

· Adhere to brand guidelines.

· Utilize department project request platform / tracking system for project management.

· Organize and manage multiple projects and tight deadlines.

· Demonstrate ability to work independently and collaboratively.

· Assist with file conversions/compression/optimization for various channels, digital asset management, workflow and project management.

· Video production support will be required during emergency/storm events to support the company’s visual communication strategy and document company support and response.

· Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

 

Preferred Qualifications

· Effective written and verbal communications

· Bachelor’s Degree in broadcasting, mass communications and media, public relations, journalism, marketing, advertising, film production, or related area of study

· 2+ years experience working in video production preferred

· Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere, Photoshop)

· Strong creative skills

· Knowledge of field and studio production equipment; ability to set up camera operations, lighting and sound equipment desired, but not required.

· Detail oriented, organized and able to manage multiple projects while dealing with tight deadlines

· Provide examples of video production projects and videos that demonstrate ability to produce video content, creative thinking and attention to detail.

Job Overview

Employees in this role will be responsible for creating visually engaging visual communication to support a variety of business needs. This job will create graphic designs and animations that help explain complex issues for internal/external audiences. Individuals capture video and support audio/visual (AV) needs for corporate-wide events and projects. This position operates satellite uplink equipment to deliver key corporate messages to various media and acts as the subject-matter expert of emerging technologies for the department.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Designs visual content to create final products in support of campaigns and projects
  • Serves as videographer, capturing visual content for use in a variety of internal and external channels
  • Creates 3D animations in support of campaigns and projects
  • Acts as a digital graphic designer, visual storyteller, video producer, and audio/visual technician
  • Travels within the state of Florida and through the United States
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned

  • Bachelor’s or Equivalent Experience
