Position Specific Description

Analyst, Decarbonization and Sustainability (Industrials and Chemicals)

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Analyst to join our team. The ideal candidate will be a problem solver, with a passion for sustainability, who can distill complex information into understandable and actionable plans. Strong relationship-building and presentation skills are essential, as the role will involve regular interactions with senior-level management internally and with clients. The ideal candidate will possess a strong energy background and a proven track record of thinking strategically about the customer, the products, and the solutions to technical challenges.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Gather and analyze data related to decarbonization and sustainability goals
  • Perform in-depth reviews of a client’s sustainability plans, and engage with stakeholders and subject matter experts through emails, presentations, as well as regular calls and meetings
  • Create and present materials, briefing docs, plans, and recommendations that address sustainability topics including technology evaluation, investor views, peer benchmarking, and financial analysis for internal and external stakeholders
  • Network and maintain relationships with internal subject matter experts and key industry players
  • Manage resources and own the project process

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 3 years of experience in ESG, Sustainability, or energy-industry roles (e.g., renewable energy development, energy analysis, energy policy, consulting, ESG or sustainability role within an industrial or chemical company)
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills
  • Proficiency in PowerPoint, Excel, and data analysis

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in the energy industry, particularly with solar, wind, or distributed generation (Solar, Microgrids, Battery Storage, CHP, or Fuel Cells), is highly preferred
  • Project management and resource management experience is a plus
  • Experience developing sustainability or energy solution strategies

Job Overview

This role helps identify, progress, and close opportunities by understanding the customer’s business requirements, technical requirements, and the competitive landscape.  By applying business insights and deep subject matter expertise, employees build and maintain customer relationships, and incorporate what has been learned through the discovery process to design a solution that aligns with the business needs of the customer.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with sales teams to define, design, and detail the technical aspects and feasibility of proposed solutions
  • Support technical discussions and solution design throughout the sales process in order to progress/close deals and build customer relationships
  • Deliver product demonstrations, technical education, and proof of concepts
  • Provide input on proposals and draft scope of work
  • Maintain an understanding of the customer’s industry, including industry trends, industry business processes
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned
