Position Specific Description

Agile Leader - Drive improvements in our agile maturity journey on while demonstrating quantifiable progress toward achieving higher performing teams and improved business outcomes. 

  • As Agile Leader "coach", work closely with teams and team members to develop and perform activities allowing the development of Agile skills and improvement of development processes.
  • The role of the Agile Leader is to share their experience and observations with all team members and to make sure that the best practices are being used.
  • Expected to work with other Coaches (Agile & Automation) to help increase value overall coaching program (bench strength)
  • Collaborate with the Atlassian Administration team to ensure Agile and DevOps standard practices are configured in Jira and downstream tools (experience administrating an Atlassian platform preferred)
  • Use available Jira tools (Dataplane, eazyBI, Rich Filters) to create dashboards and reports that Agile Teams and RTEs will use to facilitate delivery
  • Coach and train teams the usage of Jira Advanced Roadmaps
  • Collaborate with people across widely varying levels and roles including Product Owners, Dev-ops teams, development teams
  • Coach teams to develop their Agile skills in order to rapidly become self-sufficient and benefit from Agile approaches.
  • This role promotes and facilitates, in a cohesive manner, the adoption of DevOps and Agility within teams and by organizations.
  • Agile Leaders are passionate about communication, group dynamics and coaching and are not afraid to raise issues and drive change to remove impediments to adoption.
  • Possess great communication and interpersonal skills, teaching abilities, and a capacity to inspire and motivate.
  • Agile Leader must have an insatiable appetite for learning new things and improving existing ones.

Job Overview

This position guides teams in the execution of agile initiatives to deliver customer value. Employees in this role train and coach in the use of Scrum, Lean, Kanban, XP, and scale agile framework practices.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Trains and coaches leaders, teams, Product Owners, and Scrum Masters in Lean-Agile practices and mindset
  • Contributes in Communities of Practice (CoP), within the agile network
  • Promotes and encourages collaboration and transparency and builds trusting relationships between business, delivery, and other entities within the organization
  • Facilitates periodic synchronization meetings across several different onsite and distributed delivery teams
  • Prepares program and release backlogs, as well as team and program objectives
  • Tracks, promotes, and publishes completed program features and program and team objectives
  • Manages risk and dependencies, communicates and escalates impediments to facilitate transparency, and reduces bottlenecks
  • Embraces a continuous improvement mindset, and drives the use of agile engineering best practices and innovation
  • Reports on standardized program-level metrics, and understands, tracks, and operates within the program budget
  • Plays an instrumental role in the organization’s Agile transformation, acts as a change agent, and shows strong leadership skills with a positive and collaborative attitude
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • High School Grad / GED
  • Bachelor's or Equivalent Experience
  • Experience: 7+ years

Preferred Qualifications

  • Supervisor/Management Experience: 2+ years
