Position Specific Description
NextEra Energy is seeking a dynamic and experienced Renewable Energy Business Development Agile Program Manager to lead and oversee agile-driven initiatives that support our business development efforts in renewable energy. The successful candidate will leverage agile methodologies to drive the efficient execution of projects aimed at expanding our renewable energy portfolio, enhancing market reach, and driving innovation. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong project management skills, deep understanding of agile methodologies, and experience in the renewable energy sector.
Essential Responsibilities:
Agile Program Management:
- Lead and manage renewable energy business development programs using agile methodologies to ensure timely and successful delivery.
- Develop and maintain program plans, including scope, timelines, resources, and budgets, ensuring alignment with business goals.
- Conduct regular sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives to ensure continuous improvement and agile best practices.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to prioritize and deliver program objectives efficiently.
Business Development:
- Identify and evaluate new business opportunities in the renewable energy sector, aligning with the company’s strategic goals.
- Develop business cases, feasibility studies, and market analyses to support decision-making and project approval processes.
- Work closely with the business development team to identify customer needs, market trends, and competitive landscape.
Stakeholder Collaboration:
- Facilitate effective communication and collaboration between business development, IT, engineering, finance, and other relevant teams.
- Act as the primary point of contact for stakeholders, providing regular updates on program progress and addressing any concerns or roadblocks.
- Present program outcomes and business development opportunities to senior leadership, providing strategic insights and recommendations.
Risk Management:
- Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure program objectives are met without compromising on quality or timelines.
- Monitor program risks and issues, implementing corrective actions as necessary to keep projects on track.
Continuous Improvement:
- Proactively identify opportunities for process improvements and implement agile best practices to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Stay updated on industry trends, agile methodologies, and emerging technologies, integrating relevant advancements into program management strategies.
Leadership and Team Development:
- Mentor and guide project teams, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning.
- Provide professional development opportunities to team members, enhancing their skills and capabilities in agile program management.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Renewable Energy, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field. A Master’s degree is preferred.
- Relevant agile certifications (e.g., Certified Scrum Master (CSM), PMI-ACP) and project management certifications (e.g., PMP) are preferred
- Strong proficiency in agile methodologies (e.g., Scrum, Kanban) and tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence).
- Excellent project management skills with the ability to manage complex, cross-functional projects.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with diverse stakeholders.
- Strategic and analytical mindset with strong problem-solving abilities.
- Leadership experience with the ability to inspire and motivate project teams.
- Demonstrated experience understand infrastructure development operations
- Strong leadership, team-building, and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal abilities.
Job Overview
This position guides teams in the execution of agile initiatives to deliver customer value. Employees in this role train and coach in the use of Scrum, Lean, Kanban, XP, and scale agile framework practices.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Trains and coaches leaders, teams, Product Owners, and Scrum Masters in Lean-Agile practices and mindset
- Contributes in Communities of Practice (CoP), within the agile network
- Promotes and encourages collaboration and transparency and builds trusting relationships between business, delivery, and other entities within the organization
- Facilitates periodic synchronization meetings across several different onsite and distributed delivery teams
- Prepares program and release backlogs, as well as team and program objectives
- Tracks, promotes, and publishes completed program features and program and team objectives
- Manages risk and dependencies, communicates and escalates impediments to facilitate transparency, and reduces bottlenecks
- Embraces a continuous improvement mindset, and drives the use of agile engineering best practices and innovation
- Reports on standardized program-level metrics, and understands, tracks, and operates within the program budget
- Plays an instrumental role in the organization's Agile transformation, acts as a change agent, and shows strong leadership skills with a positive and collaborative attitude
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
- High School Grad / GED
- Bachelor's or Equivalent Experience
- Experience: 6+ years
Preferred Qualifications
- Supervisor/Management/Leadership Experience: 2+ years
