Position Specific Description

NextEra Energy’s Enterprise Data Platform (EDP) is building a world class data and analytics platform intended for broad consumption by multiple business units.  Currently, EDP is seeking an experienced operational leader to manage multiple data engineering teams and represent EDP across the organization.  This person ensures all team members are well positioned to succeed and is ultimately responsible for driving significant business value on behalf of EDP and NEE.  The ideal candidate would be able to manage technical and non-technical resources based out of multiple delivery locations across the globe, as well as act as a trusted leader to grow the EDP program.  This person should also be comfortable building engaging and well-thought out presentations for IT and BU leaders, as well as supporting broad business process improvements.  

 

 

  • Work with multiple Scrum Masters and Product Owners to execute delivery projects effectively.
  • Communicate milestones and deliverables both internally to the program and externally to IT and BU leaders.
  • Manage a team of experienced technical and non-technical team members.
  • Identify and establish scope and parameters of requirements analysis on a project-by-project basis to define project impact, outcome criteria, and metrics.
  • Work closely with all business units and engineering teams to develop strategy for optimizing EDP’s ability to execute projects.
  • Requires 8-10 years people leadership experience. 
  • This role benefits from having technical skills, specifically in the data analytics space, however is not required. 
  • Works well in a highly dynamic environment juggling multiple high priority deliverables.
  • Six Sigma BB or MBB is helpful, but not required.
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills.
  • Role is hybrid on-site with the main work location in Juno Beach, FL. 

Job Overview

This position guides teams in the execution of agile initiatives to deliver customer value. Employees in this role train and coach in the use of Scrum, Lean, Kanban, XP, and scale agile framework practices.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Trains and coaches leaders, teams, Product Owners, and Scrum Masters in Lean-Agile practices and mindset
  • Contributes in Communities of Practice (CoP), within the agile network
  • Promotes and encourages collaboration and transparency and builds trusting relationships between business, delivery, and other entities within the organization
  • Facilitates periodic synchronization meetings across several different onsite and distributed delivery teams
  • Prepares program and release backlogs, as well as team and program objectives
  • Tracks, promotes, and publishes completed program features and program and team objectives
  • Manages risk and dependencies, communicates and escalates impediments to facilitate transparency, and reduces bottlenecks
  • Embraces a continuous improvement mindset, and drives the use of agile engineering best practices and innovation
  • Reports on standardized program-level metrics, and understands, tracks, and operates within the program budget
  • Plays an instrumental role in the organization’s Agile transformation, acts as a change agent, and shows strong leadership skills with a positive and collaborative attitude
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned

  • Bachelor’s or Equivalent Experience
  • Experience: 8+ years
  • Supervisor/Management Experience: 2+ years
