Position Specific Description
Florida Power & Light Company is seeking an Accounting Manager – Construction Accounting, PGD, Nuclear, E&C at its corporate headquarters in Juno Beach. In this role you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy of Power Generation, General Plant, Intangibles and New Construction projects from an asset perspective. You can expect to have an understanding of the Uniform System of Accounts (USoA) as set forth in the Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) and be able to apply and ensure compliance with the rules and regulations set for by the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) as well as the Florida Public Service Commission (FPSC). In addition, strong research and analytical skills are crucial for the success of this role. You will also have a working knowledge of the Company’s financial systems, including but not limited to, PowerPlan and SAP and ensure the continued integrity of the Company’s financial statements as supported by these systems. You will interface with several business units both in the role of accounting oversight and in optimizing accounting results and processes and therefore the ability to interact with and represent the accounting department will be critical. This position reports to the Director of Regulated Property Accounting. Results will be achieved by managing/leading a staff of trained professionals. Job Duties & Responsibilities
• Prepares financial reports that are in compliance with GAAP and FERC, in a timely manner, to accurately reflect the financial position of the Company
• Provides accounting oversight to businesses and departments within the Company and ensures proper controls are in place for accurate financial reporting
• Ensures financial data integrity through the implementation and maintenance of a strong control environment
• Keeps abreast of, and applies GAAP, SEC regulations, and relevant company policies, practices, and procedures
• Manages professional staff, and effectively communicates and executes performance management
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor's Degree
• Experience: 8+ years
• Supervisor/Management Experience: 2+ years
Preferred Qualifications
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
• Master's - Business Administration
