Position Specific Description

Florida Power & Light Company is seeking an Accountant II at its corporate headquarters in Juno Beach. In this role, you will be responsible for property accounting transactions related to General Plant and Intangible Assets. This role requires an understanding of GAAP as well as strong verbal and written communication skills and attention to detail. Responsibilities include the preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations, and internal reports as well as interfacing with other business units to ensure complete and accurate information is recorded in addition to other special projects and/or process improvement activities. This position reports to the Supervisor of General Plant.

Job Overview

Employees in this role assist in researching, analyzing and reporting on issues that affect the company, recommending possible solutions, and assisting with the follow-up activities to resolve them.

Job Duties & Responsibilities


•   Assists in preparing financial reports in a timely manner that are in compliance with GAAP and accurately reflect the financial status of the company
•   Keeps abreast of and apply GAAP, SEC regulations, and relative company policies, practices and procedures
•   Ensures accounting integrity of corporate financial data through the implementation of appropriate internal controls
•   Prepares schedules and journal entries
•   Performs other job-related duties as assigned

•  Experience: 1+ years
