Position Specific Description

Florida Power & Light Company is seeking a Principal Accountant to join the Asset Recovery & Analysis Property Accounting team at its corporate headquarters in Juno Beach.  The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills and take ownership of various projects, adding value through critical thinking and inter-personal skills and be able to research regulatory guidance.

 

Specific Responsibilities include:

  • Support quarterly and annual regulatory Filings
  • Support external reporting requirements (e.g., 10K, 10Q, etc.) as required
  • Supporting management for various regulated companies in asset recovery and analysis (ARA) related matters
  • Work with internal and external auditors
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes and drive workforce productivity
  • Prompt and accurate customer support (internal/external)
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Job Overview

Employees in this role assist in researching, analyzing and reporting on issues that affect the company, recommending possible solutions, and assisting with the follow-up activities to resolve them.

Job Duties & Responsibilities


•   Assists in preparing financial reports in a timely manner that are in compliance with GAAP and accurately reflect the financial status of the company
•   Keeps abreast of and apply GAAP, SEC regulations, and relative company policies, practices and procedures
•   Ensures accounting integrity of corporate financial data through the implementation of appropriate internal controls
•   Prepares schedules and journal entries
•   Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications


•  Bachelor's - Accounting / Finance / Business
•  Experience: 1+ years
