Position Specific Description

The FCOE is seeking an Accountant l - Debt Accounting at the Juno Beach location. In this role you will report to the Debt/Benefits/Investments Accounting Manager and focus mainly on Debt Accounting related activities. Specific duties and responsibilities of this role include:

 

•Review and post existing debt interest accruals, amortization of issuance costs, premium or discount, and deferred interest.
•Track and review invoices and initiate payments of principal and interest though SAP, communicating with trustee banks when needed.
•Review monthly debt related balance sheet and income statement general ledger accounts and explain variances.
•Input new debt issuances into SAP working with other internal and external parties to ascertain terms. 
•Prepare monthly and quarterly reports for internal and external reporting.

•Prepare quarterly account reconciliations

  • Analytical skills for applying technical GAAP and NextEra accounting policy to complex transactions

Job Duties & Responsibilities


•   Prepares financial reports in a timely manner that are in compliance with GAAP and accurately reflect the financial status of the company
•   Assures accounting integrity of corporate financial data through the implementation of appropriate internal controls
•   Independently prepares schedules and journal entries
•   Keeps abreast of and applies GAAP, SEC regulations, and relative company policies, practices and procedures
•   Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

•  Bachelor's - Accounting / Finance / Business
•  Experience: 2+ years

Preferred Qualifications


•  Master's - Business Administration
