Position Specific Description

They are helping shape our company and how our customers see us.  With eight nuclear reactors at five plant sites around the country, today, FPL’s nuclear fleet is one of the largest in the nation. Currently, we are seeking a Senior Budget Analyst to join our team at our St Lucie Nuclear Plant. This dual unit nuclear facility is located on beautiful Hutchinson Island, about eight miles southeast of Ft. Pierce, FL and generates enough power to supply the annual needs of more than 1 million homes. 

 

In this role you will be responsible for providing support and oversight to the various St. Lucie departments in the determination and adherence of O&M, Security Capacity Clause and Capital expenditures. Expenditure forecasting analytical skills will be required to ensure adherence to the authorized budgets. You must also have the ability to effectively interface with plant staff, management, and regulatory personnel.

Job Overview

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Prepares operating budgets, maintains records and audits accounts for units/departments
  • Compiles and reviews budgets, taking into consideration actual performance, previous expenditures and estimated expenses and income
  • Reviews departmental expenditures to ensure compliance with budget allocations
  • Maintains accurate spending records and establishes measures for budgetary control
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s - Accounting/Finance
  • Experience: 5+ years
