 Position Specific Description

GridLiance, a Nextera Energy company is looking for a paralegal that will primarily provide support to in-house counsel in the Irving, TX office.  This position will be responsible for: 


  • Researches regulatory filings and law sources such as statutes, recorded judicial decisions, legal articles, treaties,

constitutions, and legal codes for review by corporate counsel, as directed

  • Works with in-house counsel in the preparation of non-disclosure agreements and engagement letters
  • Performs other clerical duties such as scheduling appointments and meetings, providing information, and composing routine correspondence
  • Acts as liaison with legal vendors/firms
  • Monitors compliance with legal budget
  • Files correspondence and legal documents with various regulatory agencies
  • Maintains contract and document management system for legal department
  • Ensures proper calendaring of deadlines

Job Overview

Employees in this position are responsible for providing paralegal support to the company and for the attorneys within the law department.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

Under limited supervision:

  • Drafts and edits legal documents based on edits and input from corporate attorneys
  • Participates in special projects or activities related to the legal discipline being supported  
  • Performs legal and transaction related research
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • High School Grad / GED
  • Bachelor’s or Equivalent Experience
  • Experience: 0+ years

Preferred Qualifications

  • Paralegal Certification
