Position Specific Description
This position is located at our Martin Plant in Indiantown, FL and will travel the state of Florida to support the fleet outages. Tools are provided by the company. Days and shifts will vary based on the business unit needs during the outage. Normal schedule (not supporting an outage) is a day shift Monday-Friday. Overtime hours average approximately between 400 hours to 800 hours per year. Employees are offered per diem when traveling outside of their region. The plant operates 24/7 so individuals will be expected to work and support weekend days as needed.
Job Overview
The primary function is to perform the duties of a machinist; however, this individual may perform duties in other maintenance disciplines (mechanical, electrical, instrument & control) to the extent that he/she is capable, qualified and able to perform in a safe manner. This classification works under the direction of the Maintenance Leader.
Minimum requirements for job:
1) Must have previously held the classification of machinist,and /or completed the machinist trainee program under the direction of a journey level machinist, or attended any type of schooling or training program, college or military, that would qualify the applicant for this job.
2) Must be able to perform the minimum qualifications of a journey level mechanic.
Accountabilities:
1) Operates all types of machine tools and performs precision jobs on them to tolerances that require the use of precision tools, Instruments or gauges for measurement.
2) Uses hand tools and other equipment necessary to provide a safe, clean and productive work place.
3) Performs preventive maintenance to ensure proper function of equipment.
4) Performs maintenance inspections on and constructs, installs and repairs mechanical equipment and structures.
5) May maintain stock and records of plant mechanical materials, supplies, tools,machine tools and tooling,machine shop equipment and spare parts.
6) Performs associated responsibilities according to the rules contained in the safe work practices handbook and the Memorandum of Agreement.
