Position Specific Description

As a Sr. Manager of FPA, you will be responsible for leading the reporting, forecasting, and planning process. You will report directly to the Sr. Director of Finance.  Your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
    • Lead reporting, forecasting, and planning process, including distribution of appropriate financial targets and proactive analysis of the financial statements and industry market to recommend opportunities to increase market position
    • Strategically partner with Business team to drive profitable growth through analysis, influencing and action on risk assessment, contracting excellence, pricing, business ventures, and cost control.
    • Producing models to project long term growth and determine the impacting business factors 
    • Prepare and outline complex models into simple business terms that others can work with
    • Using BI tools to analyze trends to recommend and implement sound business decisions for the company 
    • Communicate to senior management the reasons behind the product/department performance and results
    • Create annual budget and monthly forecast, including evaluating the needs of each department in the short and long term
    • Leads the development of long-range plans involving strategy development, resource allocation, work plans and timelines and financial outcomes
    • Oversee capital budgeting and equipment lease process
    • Drive working capital management with a specific focus on reducing costs
    • Leads and facilitates processes for executive ad-hoc analysis and deliver promptly against executive requests
    • Strong understanding of how economic trends, policies and regulations may affect earnings.
    • Understanding of the flow of transactions through the financial statements in order to be able to provide variance explanations for balance sheet and cash flow changes
    • Managing a team of Financial and Business Analysts

    • Minimum of 10 years of relevant analytical experience
    • Significant analytical skillset, including the utilization of BI and reporting tools
    • Strong quantitative abilities 
    • Able to solve complex problems
    • Excellent communication skills with ability to build relationships
    • Strong influencing and interpersonal skills
    • High level of  commercial acumen

  • Advanced computer software skills, including writing macros in Excel and other accounting packages

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Directs the development of standard processes, tools, and systems that will help top financial positions embedded in the business units/companies to develop timely, accurate, and meaningful insights to support their business
  • Provides analysis and insights to senior leadership (CFO, VP Finance and CIO, FPL and NEER VP Finance, Business Unit leaders) to drive strategic planning and operational decisions
  • Coordinates and ensures timely delivery of the enterprise-wide financial processes, with a focus on simplifying, standardizing, and automating processes as much as possible
  • Assists on special projects that require cross-functional engagement with key staff across the organization, and with external stakeholders, as appropriate
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Experience: 10+ years
  • Supervisor/Management Experience: 5+ years

  • Bachelor’s - Accounting / Finance
  • Master’s Degree
  • Master’s - Business Administration
  • Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA)
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
  • Six Sigma Green Belt Certified
