Position Specific Description

Join NextEra Energy Resource’s retail energy division focused on maximizing customer satisfaction through optimal operational performance. This role is responsible for all analytics and performance management within the operations function.
Job Overview
The Sr. Manager of Analytics and Performance Management will report directly to the Sr. Director of Operations. In this role, they will be responsible for all analytical and project management functions within Operations. The role will ensure that billing, transaction management, credit, collections and the call center are operating optimally through advanced analytics and performance management tools. The Sr. Manager of Analytics and Performance Management will be responsible for deep dives, strategic analysis and presenting findings to upper management. The role will support all system and M&A activity and will be responsible for ensuring that appropriate reporting is developed, existing reports are accurate and operations acheives metrics. The Sr. Manager of Analytics and Performance Management will need to be able to write SQL queries to extract data from various systems. In addition, the qualified candidate will have responsibility for vendor management, performance optimization and cost mitigation strategies.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage all aspects of the day to day operational processes to ensure all metrics are achieved, including writing queries and developing reporting where appropriate
- Responsible for managing multiple and complex projects with little direction
- Act as liaison between internal and external teams to accomplish all regulatory and strategic initiatives
- Revenue management for all manual billing components, including pass through products
- Prepare all analytics for any deep dives necessary for the business, including writing all SQL and/or Python queries
- Support all M&A and systems migrations for the business
- Independent oversight of core operational teams to ensure key metrics and responsibilities are achieved, including management and creation of KPI metrics
- Vendor management, including cost oversight and implementing cost reduction initiatives
- Oversight of the project management function to ensure projects are prioritized correctly, costs are managed, and the business delivers on requests
- Pro-active identification of performance optimization opportunities for the business
- Analytical support for the credit and collections and call center departments
- Ad hoc analytics and deep dives to optimize performance on key issues as necessary
- Create executive dashboards for key areas to report to executive leadership
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned
The core duties of this role involve:
- Writing queries, analyzing data and metric management to drive performance optimization
- Conducting data analysis and deep dives to support the business
- Manage the planning process for Operations, including reporting on delta to actuals
- Support all analytics relating to system migrations
- Managing complex projects with cross-functional team members
- Preparing and communicating updates and recommendations through PowerPoint and excel
- Project management responsibilities, including finishing key projects on time and within budget
- Achieve all cost targets for operations, including management of the budget for operations
- Vendor and contract management for key operational vendors
- Other operational support duties as assigned

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s – Accounting / Finance / Business / Engineering / IT or related field
- Experience – 10+ years in retail energy or related field
- Experience – 7+ years leading a team of individuals in a management capacity
- SQL, Python and other coding languages
- Previous experience within operations and general understanding of key operational processes

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Equivalent Experience
- Experience: 10+ years
- Supervisor/Management Experience: 4+ years
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Experience 12+ years
