Position Specific Description

The Senior Business Analyst – Commercial Credit & Collections position will provide critical analytical support and initiative project management for Commercial Credit and Collections for all NextEra Retail Brands. This individual will also support the completion of ad hoc analyses involving credit and fraud trends and operational metrics, along with provide critical insights into trends driving bad debt and performance of vendors.  This individual will partner with cross functional teams to assume the following responsibilities. 

 

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Development of models, analysis and report publication for tracking and managing bad debt accrual vs. actual and analyzing drivers of debt for various commercial business segments. 
  • Standardize operational metrics and KPI reporting to advanced dashboard/KPI visualization for commercial business segments
  • Work cross functionally with business operational partners and other departments to use findings to improve process for both financial benefit, debt reduction and gain of operational efficiency
  • Act as project manager for both departmental initiatives and companywide initiatives impacting Credit, Collections and Bad Debt, including billing system migration, enrollment project and various process improvement and identified automation needs.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to reduce redundancy in reporting efforts, improve efficiency in reviewing and processing deductions
  • Provide feedback that may lead to additional requests of system enhancements to reporting needs, ensuring that the requests are completed and implemented in a timely manner
  • Proven ability to remain organized in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects
  • Analyst is expected to perform other duties as necessary to support the goals and objectives of the organization

 

The individual in this role must have a demonstrated track record of meeting deadlines, a willingness to take on new challenges and high comfort level in interacting with cross-functional teams and leaders.

 

Key Skills Include:

  • Database query skills in SQL
  • Analytics and visualization skills including PowerBI, Tableau, Python or similar
  • Business Process Mapping Skills using Visio
  • Strong business requirements documentation skills
  • Project Management experience with project management training preferred
  • Firm understanding of Six Sigma practices with a strong preference to be minimally certified as a Yellow Belt with willingness to certify higher
  • Business Process Improvement and Process Design
  • Retail Electricity, Electricity markets experience strongly preferred (ERCOT, PJM, MISO, NYISO, NEPOOL, etc)
  • Experience in Credit, Collections and Bad Debt analytics
  • Knowledge of commercial bankruptcy and AR management a plus
