Position Specific Description

You have the exciting opportunity to join a startup within the world’s largest utility company. NextEra Water aims to become a leading water utility by bringing NextEra’s leadership in sustainable energy to the water sector.

In this position, you will play a key role in the origination and development of water and wastewater acquisitions. We employ a data-driven approach to identify opportunities where we can acquire and improve water and wastewater infrastructure to ensure sustainable, clean, and reliable water for our customers.

Successful candidates will be competitive, highly motivated individuals with the ability to learn quickly. This position will be working in our Houston, TX office.

Position-specific responsibilities include:
•    Identifying and researching potential acquisition targets
•    Establishing initial contact with key decision makers
•    Facilitating acquisition or greenfield development process with internal stakeholders to progress opportunities from origination to execution and integration
•    Ensuring compliance with applicable technical and regulatory requirements
•    Performing other job-related duties as assigned

Job Overview

Employees in this role Identify utilities and/or territories in Florida that could potentially be acquired and/or incorporated into FPL’s retail territory. This job is responsible for developing relationships within those territories to advance the likelihood of acquiring the territory.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

•   Leads financial analysis and due diligence activities to assess the benefits and risks of acquiring the territory
•   Negotiates and leads implementation of commercial terms and structures for incorporation of successfully acquired territories
•   Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

•  High School Grad / GED
•  Bachelor's Degree
•  Experience: 6+ years
