Position Specific Description

At NextEra Energy, we are taking our Senior Regulatory Affairs role to the next level. These talented employees are the drivers of regulatory for the consumer market. In this role you will review and analyze direct and digital marketing campaigns in the mass market space, with strong working knowledge of applicate regulatory rules for customer enrollments, marketing and other related customer protection rules in competitive electric and gas markets. Advise and counsel on new consumer products and product structures and compliance with changing regulatory rules and varying political environments. Advise retail on transactions involving the retail sale of electricity, especially for mass markets. Work with broad based client groups and serve as the day to day Regulatory lead for mass market retail electricity transactions. Identify and communicate significant risks succinctly to senior management. Staying abreast of changing market rules and informing impacted internal business clients accordingly. Provide Regulatory input on various cross functional initiatives including billing, call center scripts, PUC complaint responses and regulatory reporting requirements.  Provide Regulatory support for retail natural gas transactions, and other business requirements as needed. Job Overview

Employees in this role support Florida Power and Light’s (FPL) Regulatory Affairs team and are involved in the Company’s projects and dockets that are filed with the Florida Public Service Commission (FPSC). This position collaborates with different business units and involves familiarity with a variety of regulatory concepts, practices, and procedures.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Coordinates regulatory filings and proceedings
  • Leads and plans docket team meetings, develops project timelines, reviews petitions and testimony, manages discovery, summarizes key milestones, and attends hearings
  • Summarizes and reports on changes in complex rates regulations and any expected impacts on the Company
  • Monitors state and national regulatory proceedings and provides timely summaries to leadership
  • Masters standard concepts, practices, and procedures of the state’s regulatory proceedings
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • High School Grad / GED
  • Bachelor’s or Equivalent Experience
  • Experience: 4+ years

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s - Accounting / Finance
  • Master’s Degree
