Position Specific Description

You will be responsible for ensuring successful discovery, deployment, and ongoing operation of our financial reporting platform.  Financial reporting is critical to our success within the Gas Infrastructure business unit.  You’ll work to streamline inputs to the platform, optimize financial calculations and enhance reporting logic to meet the changing demands of the company.  Your role will interface with all parts of business activities, including operations, accounting, reservoir teams and executive reporting.   

 


WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Product Roadmap: Drive the product roadmap, prioritize initiatives and enhancements that drive business value to help deliver insights and operational excellence for our finance team
  • Product Development: Gather requirements from end users, define user stories, lead development activities across all domains for the platform, prioritize the backlog, and ensure successful development, testing and release of features.
  • Data Quality: Ensure that the data stores + data flows in and out of the platform are stable, complete, accurate, and highly performant.  
  • Product Strategy: Collaborate with other technology team members to ensure alignment of goals, optimize resource allocation, and enhance the capabilities of the technology and finance teams 
  • Product Delivery: Ensure that critical business needs are met by defining initiatives and seeing them through the implementation and release processes. 
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned. 

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3+ years in product ownership/management 
  • Demonstrated ability to learn multiple functional areas of the upstream oil and gas business – operations, drilling, reservoir, accounting, land
  • Proven ability to engage with technical professionals, finance professionals, and stakeholders in a constructive and collaborative relationship. 
  • Strong leadership and communication skills. 
  • Mindset of collaboration and succeeding as a team, helping others when called upon.
  • Intermediate querying and reporting experience including using SQL, DAX, PowerQuery, Power BI and other Microsoft products to create and maintain data pipelines.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience working with data pipelines and internal customers/users. 
  • Experience leading software development activities
  • Demonstrated understanding of the upstream oil and gas business
  • Demonstrated understanding of financial reporting and financial planning activities for and oil and gas business
