Position Specific Description

At NextEra Energy Inc., our people are our greatest asset and our NEER IT team is seeking a Principal IT Business Systems Analyst to help take us to the Next Era. In this role as a Principal IT Business Systems Analyst, you will lead and facilitate teams where team members are geographically diverse to deliver business value through their development and delivery execution. You must be able to build trusted relationships with the team and with their stakeholders to ensure the needs of all team members are met. The selected candidate will work closely with the Agile Delivery Manager as well as one or many Scrum teams. Experience in the Energy business and specifically, the Natural Gas domain, is required. Along with this, experience with pipeline scheduling, nomination and accounting systems is desired. Having worked with Land systems like Quorum and their QLA, QLS and Q-GIS modules, would be an added advantage.  

 

 Main Responsibilities 

  • Demonstrates a strong familiarity with business processes in their area of business focus 

  • Effectively manage customer relationships with business users and team members 

  • Lead project discussions, work with business and IT to write stories and acceptance criteria 

  • Applies advanced analytical skills to decompose work into manageable value-based units 

  • Responds to requests, identifies conflicts, makes recommendations, and fulfills them.  

  • Define and execute Quality Assurance (QA) / User Acceptance Testing (UAT) scenarios for regression testing and setup test environments for UAT scenarios. 

  • Uses knowledge of business processes to identify interdependencies and fix functional gaps 

  • Coordinate QA/UAT review for technical areas (ex. Customer data separation), analyzes and review QA/UAT evidence 

  • Support business with change management audits; coordinate and assist in the phase 2 rollout (parallel and launch) of the Pipeline Nomination System 

  • Setup test environments for NAESB consultant & translate NAESB review feedback into stories and tasks 

  • Verify stories are attached to a release with supporting test evidence and business approval 

  • Knowledgeable to manage lease agreements, lease acquisitions, GIS systems, produce division orders and create reports & maps. 

  • Provisioning asset leases and loading them into the Quorum system; leverage built-in workflows to establish ownership, title & broker management, and agreement tracking.  

  • Manage document management systems like DocView and ThoughtTrace; well-versed in Right-of-Way (ROW), agreements, easements, data layers and reporting abilities.

  • Creates and updates documentation, as appropriate, for selected project framework
  • Maintains a familiarity with market trends in technology
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned
